Day 65: Just Study & Relax Sunday, May 17, 2009 2:00pm: Jon and I talk. Sorry, but he was boring. I was also boring because I didn’t have any stories to say. 3:00pm: I finish replying to messages from friends and family from America. I accumulated a lot because I didn’t respond fast. Also, I tried to work on my travel blog… 6:00pm: I ate dinner. Sundays are instant food day because it’s Manami’s break day of cooking. It makes me want to eat out… I’m not used to eating instant food. I don’t even like fast food. 7:00pm: I do my Japanese essay. 10:00pm: I finally finish my Japanese essay and Daiki checks it. Then, I continue to do homework and study. 2:00am: I fall asleep. Note: Times are approximate. If you want a postcard/letter ... read more

Day 64: Takoyaki Saturday, May 16, 2009 12:00am: The club was having a “90s Hip Hop Party,” so I didn’t get to hear my favorite songs. I loved this. 6:00am: We split to ride the train home. 7:00am: I take a shower, fix my bed, and went to sleep. 3:45pm: Jon wakes me up. He sounded mad and that got me mad. We quickly hung up. 4:00pm: As I lay in bed, I text friends, American and Japanese, who are in Japan. I want a friend who is sincerely willing to spend time with me. In Chicago, that’s Aimee. 5:00pm: I go upstairs to eat dinner ... read more

Day 62: Hang Out with Friends Thursday, May 14, 2009 4:00am: I woke up to finish my homework and write out note cards. 5:00am: Eileen wakes up and does her readings. She even checked my homework! This was the most studying I have ever done with a friend! Maybe Eileen should be my dorm mate. 7:00am: We eat breakfast. 7:45am: We leave. I felt bad that Eileen was still hungry and buys more bread & peanut butter at a store… I owe her food. 8:50am: We made it to school early and went to our classrooms. 9:15am: Class started with a vocabulary quiz. Then, we learned how to ask people to do things for us such as “please give me that book.” 10:45am: Class ended. I pretty much kept to myself. I feel “unliked.” I wonder ... read more

Then, we learned how to say give/receive and how to say “as many/long as” like in “I studied as long as 5 hours.” 10:45am: Class ended. I still remember yesterday. I stayed quiet, thinking, “These people think I’m annoying. Better not make it worse.” 11:00am: Class started with review of yesterday’s kanji. Then, we listened to the model conversation. I was bored! 12:30pm: Class ended and I meet up with Eileen. We sat on a bench and talked about things. I like talking to her because she feels sincere to me. Day : Test & Skit Day on No Sleep Monday, May 11, 2009 4:30am: I’m still studying. It looks like I’m not sleeping tonight. I’m hungry, so I eat toasted bread with peanut butter, 2 cookies, and milk. I really want umeboshi and rice though… 5:00am: I went to sleep. 8:10am: Manami wakes me up asking if it’s alright for me to be sleeping. I was in such a rush! I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and ran out the door! Manami said it was okay for me to skip breakfast, since I was already late. As I ran to the station, my feet were killing me! During the ride to Yotsuya, I ran through all the stations…and I even pry a train door open. It was embarrassing having all those people stare at me…I ... read more

Day : Continuing Clubbing! Sunday, May 10, 2009 12:30am: At Vuenos, we each pay $30 to get in. Frank pays for the locker, $3. It’s still pretty empty, so we viewed the area. Frank started dancing. I was surprised because I didn’t know Frank could dance! Yoshihiro and his friend comes along and we introduced our friends. It was great to have Japanese practice. 1:30am: The club was getting packed! Candy and I met 2 people named Hiro and Satoshi. Satoshi confused me because he spoke English, said he was Japanese, and he looked Filipino. I later found out that Satoshi’s father is Filipino and his mother is Japanese. He was born and raised in Japan but lived in Seattle for a month to practice English. I must be confusing too. My mom is Filipino, my ... read more

Day 57: Clubbing! Saturday, May 9, 2009 Sorry...no photos/video today. 1:00pm: I woke up. I had the best sleep ever! I was listening to music that I downloaded on my Zune. My bed felt so comfortable and the weather was beautiful. I texted friends. We’re going to go clubbing and karaoke tonight. 2 of my friends asked me what I was doing. They must be lonely, so I invited them to come along! :) 2:00pm: I ate the breakfast that was laid out for me. I was suppose to leave in the morning to go to Ate Reci’s but…she cancelled our family day. She and Aimi were going to the Philippines today. What short notice! Ate Reci said that they have a free ticket to the Philippines and it will expire soon. They will leave today ... read more

Day : Stupid School Day Friday, May 8, 2009 7:45am: I woke up and stared at the clock. What time was I suppose to leave the house for school? 7:50am: Sh*t! I realized that I needed to leave my house 5 minutes ago! I changed my clothes, rushed up the stairs, brushed my teeth, splashed water on my face, ate the salad and sausages (didn’t even bother making bread for myself), and I said thanks and bye to Manami. 8:00am: I ran out the door with an umbrella. 8:10am: On the train, I studied my note cards, just in case I made it in time for the quiz. I had a feeling that I will be on time. 9:16am: I made it to my classroom! I turned in my homework and Japanese composition. I took the ... read more
