Day 5: Okegawa, Hanko, Karaoke 10:00am: Jon wakes me up. I was sleepy but I love knowing he thinks about me. I went back to sleep. 10:30am: I got up, took a shower, ate breakfast (slice of bread with Swiss cheese and hot coco drink) and got ready. Ate Reci and I talked. 1:00pm: We talked for a long time. We left to go to Okegawa. 2:30pm: We reached Okegawa City Hall. It took 5 minutes to walk there and 3 minutes to get the Koseki Fuhyo. Day 3: Settling Down 3:00am Sleeping was so nice because Ate Reci put an electric blanket on my bed. Also, she put many furry soft blankets. This was the first time that I slept in such a warm and soft bed. I want to buy a Japanese electronic blanket. 7:00am Jon wakes me up by calling me. I was wide awake...but soon realize that I'm exhausted later in the day. 8:00am Ate Reci toasted me a thick slice of Japanese bread and let me try their Philippines peanut butter, Swiss cheese, and jam. I loved my breakfast! 9:00am Jon and I talk for 44 minutes on Skype. Skype makes my calls free. 11:00am I check my online bank accounts, e-mail, facebook, OneRoam SIM card, and added credit to my Skype. I couldn't load more credit to ... read more

Day 0: Night before Departure Jon bought me 4 slices of cheesecake and a WHOLE cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory, when Cheesecake Factory was already CLOSED. Wow. I e-checked in for my flight. Mom packed all my things into the suitcases, as I put down everything I THOUGHT I will need. My largest suitcase breaks, but still useable. Tip: Pack early. Have a backup suitcase. Day 1: Departure Jon loaded his car with my 3 suitcases. I wore my backpack. Jon drove me to IHop to eat breakfast. I ordered fried country steak. We went to Jewel to buy me headache medicine. 8:05am Jon drove me to O'Hare airport. I learned how to scan my passport and turn in my luggage. 8:30am I placed my shoes, scarf, jacket, carry-on, bookbag, liquids ... read more

I have done all the technical things to have a way for people to contact me while I am abroad. Now, I just need to inform my friends and family about my phone plan. Here is my plan: 1. Leave Nokia 6682 with AT&T SIM card in Chicago, so I won't get charged international roaming. Yet, I can still be contacted and respond with automatic messages. In my voicemail, mention my abroad phone numbers. When I receive text messages, do "auto responding" which states that I could be contacted by e-mail. 2. Bring LG Incite (CT810) with OneRoam SIM card to Japan, because the cellphone will work in Japan and the SIM card will have cheaper world rates. OneRoam is NOT renting, it's owning the SIM card. And there's no expiration date, so when I travel ... read more
