Hello Everyone! First of all I want to offer a sincere apology to all of you who have been waiting for months for me to get around to updating my blog. I really do try to keep it current and I often find myself thinking of things that I want to mention in it, of course I then forget it all or get to lazy to type it up! Now that my excuses are done lets get on with the fun stuff! I am still having a great time over here. Work is going well this term, it is a lot more low key and relaxing which is nice and well needed. School This term my class has started studying India and we are having a lot of fun with that, we are building houses, printing ... read more

Hello Everyone, Well my midterm break is winding slowly down and before I venture out to buy a pan to bake some amazing brownies in I though I should write a little update. Life in Prague has been going pretty good. It’s the time of year here during which everyone decides what they are going to be doing next year. Sadly a lot of my friends here are at the end of their two year contract and are off to start some new adventures. I’m more then a bit bummed about them all leaving, but I have friends staying as well and in a city like Prague I’m sure to find more interesting friends Just in case you’re wondering I am staying. I have a two year contract with the school and I have in no ... read more

Okay here is the second installment of my catch up post…. The Holidays Thanksgiving Anne came out for thanksgiving! The youngest aunt on my dads side Anne came out to spend the weekend with me in beautiful Prague. She came just in time for thanksgiving dinner at Jamas and then was nice enough to come to school with me for the day. My class loved getting to meet a member of my family and still ask about her. I do want to point out though that even after going out for a few drinks on Friday night we still woke up nice and early to go on a run. We even ran across Charles Bridge! Anne took some pretty great pictures of that which I will try to get up on here at some point. I ... read more

Hello All, I am sorry for never updating this! It is my New Years resolution to do it more though… so expect great things from now on So here’s the breakdown of life in Prague. School Is still going well. My class is fantastic! I feel like the mark of a new teacher must be that they constantly are talking about the cute things that their class has said. Everyday I leave school with funny antidote from class. For example, this week we’ve been working on creating character portraits in Literacy and each group was to pick someone in the school and draw a picture of them that included labels that describe the person (they have a lion heart, hands that sooth the cuts and bruises of kids ext…) Well one of the groups picked me ... read more

Hello Everyone, I don’t have much to write now but I did promise to try and update this more often! Life is still good, although I have to admit with the holiday season approaching I have been feeling the first symptoms of homesickness. Luckily my aunt Anne is coming to visit me for the holiday weekend so I’m sure that taste of home will help! I was appointed to the position of co-social coordinator for the staff at the start of the year and I organized a nice little dinner (at a restaurant since you all know I can’t cook to save my life). I’m looking forward to the dinner, especially the food…mmm mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie! Of course I’m sure it won’t be half as good as Grandma Alice’s and Grandma Melchert’s, but its ... read more

Hello all, Okay again I have no excuse for not updating this sooner, although last week was crazy busy! I don’t have any reason other then laziness for the other weeks though, sorry Life in Prague has been great, crazy busy but great. I guess the best way to catch up on this is to just break my life in to sections and get to it. Holiday Three other teachers and I went on a whirlwind trip to Vienna over our half term break. It was a cold but brilliant vacation. We left (way to early) on Wednesday morning and came back Friday night. Now I’ve been doing a ton of traveling these last few years and I really just needed a break and that was all this trip really was. Other then walking around a ... read more

Hello dear family and friends! I know am yet again a horrible person for not updating this sooner… but at least I have a good excuse for the last week (but really nothing for the week before that). I have been dearly missing you all though, especially this last week. I’ve been doing pretty well lately. School continues to go well and I really have nothing to complain about when it comes to my social or home life. The only thing that has been a thorn in my side is the fact that I came down with a very nasty bout of tonsillitis on Monday. I made it into school that morning but knew that there was no way that I would last out the day. I made it through assembly and then packed up and ... read more

Okay I realize that it has been a really long time since I updated this blog…but I didn’t have internet until two days ago so I’m begging off just a bit. I hope you all feel special though because I’m writing this even in extreme pain….K well its not that bad of pain but my finger is pretty sore. Today being the genius that I am I was trying to staple some paper together and in the midst of trying to fix one of my three broken staplers I most defiantly stapled my poor pointer finger. I actually had to pull the staple out of my finger! It was gross and I wasn’t happy at all… plus I got blood on my newly cleaned desk! Now that I’m done being a drama queen I guess I ... read more

I rented a Flat!!! I'm calling it my Harry potter flat cause it's kind of small but I love it! I'll be sure to post pictures of it soon. Also today I saw some of the best things ever... first were the Segways being driven around by girls in bikinis....It must be a new promotional thing and it looks amazing! The second great thing was that in Old Town Square there was an orchestra playing selections from James Bond and the Pink Panther movies and they were being accompanied by baton twirlers! By far the very very very best thing I saw today was something that I have been waiting for since last winter when Chris and Paul mentioned one day at school. It turns out that some of the homeless people train rats and then ... read more

Hello Everyone, So I made it here safe and sound. I arrived in Prague pretty early on Monday morning. The trip was nice and not really eventful…other then the fact that the people at Manchester airport love me. I got off the plane and there was an employee waiting for me at the gate. He then escorted me to the security checkpoint that they opened just for me and from there we went to down all these back hallways to a car that was waiting to personally deliver me to my gate (in the car the employee also contacted the support desk so my boarding pass was waiting at the gate for me as well). The lesson I learned from this is that obviously I am better then everyone in Manchester.. Of course since that though ... read more
