Hi all, Here is our "HOME BLOG"...Some of the things we did in NY and MI for the last couple of weeks, before heading over here to S. Korea. As you will see, we had a great time visiting family and as many friends as we could! We only spent about a week in NY, but did a lot in that short period of time. One really fun afternoon was when we went to our friend Heather's for a BBQ in Brooklyn. It was nice to see a lot of friends that we haven't seen in about a year, and also [View Full Entry]

Our Sayonara Parties! Asia » Japan » Tokyo
Hi all, Ok...so this is officially our LAST blog from Japan!! This blog is about our last, very special couple of days in Japan...our "Sayonara Parties!" Larry's party took place at a restaurant called DOMO DOMO after his last day of work. Here, it was all-you-could-drink for 2 hours for only 1,000 yen (about $10)!! However, the service was so sloooow, we started ordering like 3 drinks at a time just to get our money's worth! Regardless though, Larry's entire staff was there and we all had a great time together. My party took place at the local Planet Hollywood the [View Full Entry]

A Day in Shibuya... Asia » Japan » Tokyo » Shibuya
Hi everyone! We are currently in Michigan now....just relaxing and waiting for our VISA numbers before heading over to S. Korea. We're not exactly sure of the date that we leave now, as this whole VISA process is taking a lot longer than expected, but we'll be sure to let everyone know as soon as we know! In the meantime, here are our last couple of blogs from Japan that we've been delaying... Enjoy! These pictures are from one of our last days in Japan, when we spent the day in Shibuya. We headed over later in the afternoon, and after [View Full Entry]

Howdy everyone, This day was quite an adventure, as you will soon see...as we fit a whole lot of events into this one, single day! On this day we got an early start so that we could head out to the infamous Nokogiri-Yama. Nokogiri-Yama is an area atop a mountain located in Japan's countryside, a couple hours away from central Tokyo. Unfortunately we were a little pressed for time here, since we had already made reservations to go to a drag show later that evening with some friends, but luckily we still got to see everything that we had wanted to [View Full Entry]

Hi all! This blog is about some of our last couple of days in Tokyo, and how we shared them with some of the new friends we have made there! Most of these friends Larry met while teaching English lessons at Nova. We're both really glad that we got to share some time with them over good Japanese food and drinks before we left... The first bunch of pictures are from one of our first outings together....at a cute, little Japanese-style restaurant in the Atre. Here, we had dinner and shared stories with everyone. Larry and I also tried a lot [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone! This is going to be an exciting blog...it is all about how we climbed Mt. Fuji! There are many ways to climb Mt. Fuji....Some people start in the early afternoon, rest in a hut for a few hours at nightfall, and then continue to climb early in the morning....While some folks start when it gets dark out and just continue to climb all night until they reach the top. Either way though, the main goal is to reach the top of the mountain before the sun rises at around 4:30-5am. We chose the first option to climb, (since I'm [View Full Entry]

This weekend was particularly fun because we had another visitor to entertain - Larry's cousin, Krissy! She was visiting Japan with a couple friends, Dave and Roseanne, and so we showed them around during our couple days off of work... On Tuesday evening, we decided to go to a really cool, themed-restaurant called NINJA. Although a little on the pricey side, this restaurant was recommended to us from many people in Japan, and so we had to try it -and were REALLY glad that we had!! Here, as we waited at the front of the restaurant to be taken to our [View Full Entry]

Tokyo Dome & La Qua Asia » Japan » Tokyo
On Thursday, August 3rd, Larry and I ventured out to central Tokyo to catch a Tokyo Giants Game in the famous Tokyo Dome. We arrived early so that we could spend some time in La Qua first. La Qua is a large amusement park with some very popular rides here in Japan - including the spokeless ferris wheel and a roller coaster that actually goes through a building! Unfortunately though, Larry had to ride the roller coaster alone because I am still getting over a neck injury from my show. After some rides, we had lunch at Bubba Gump and then [View Full Entry]

I finally was able to play some golf in Japan, but not in the best conditions. My friend, Yuichi, and I had tried to play at Hakone Kurakake Golf Course a few weeks ago, but got rained out. It's difficult to get good weather in this area because the course is in the mountains near Mt. Fuji. But our second attempt was a pleasant day, even though our first 4 holes we had to play in the fog. Not long after beginning to play, I could tell that golfing in Japan would be a little different than at home. The golf [View Full Entry]

On Sunday, July 30th, Larry and I decided to go to Harajuku. We both had the day off from work and Larry had never been to Harajuku on a Sunday, which in the opinion of most, is the best day to go! It is the day where all the "Harajuku kids" dress up in their crazy garb and parade around town. So, after revisiting the Imperial Palace Garden (where we got engaged in February) in Ginza, we went to Harajuku for the rest of the day. In Harajuku, we had lunch and did a little shopping, but then we did something [View Full Entry]
