Today we arrived in Nawiliwili Harbor on the island of Kauai. I watched the ship dock before we met the girls for breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet before meeting in Studio Sea for our shore excursion at 7:30.

After leaving the ship we loaded in vans and traveled to the Kauai Backcountry Adventures store where we were issued gloves and helmets with lights for our ride through the ditches. Then back on the van for a 30 minute drive to the entry point into the ditches.

Our excursion today was a tube ride down irrigation canals that cut through the island. Our 3.5 mile ride took about 2 hours in the water and over half of it was underground as we floated through caves. It was a great experience. We saw the untouched wilderness of Kauai floating by us plus a little bit of an adventure in the process.

Afterwards we stopped at a swimming hole for a snack and a restroom break before heading back to the ship.

We dropped off our gear and, after a little bit of difficulty, we picked up our rental car at national and we were off.

We drove out to Poipu so we could have lunch at Puka Dog. The hot dogs were awesome. Kelsie went for the spicy while the rest of us had regular. Kelsie, Nikki and Regan all had Pineapple Relish and I had mango relish and we all had lilikoi mustard. The girls had polish sausages and Nikki and I had veggie dogs.

Then we headed out to Poipu Beach for a little while. The beach was beautiful as always and the water was warm. We all wished we could stay longer but we had a couple more stops before heading back to the ship.

Our next stop was for Shave Ice in Koloa Town. While we ate, I decided to take the top off the jeep we rented. (Of course, I cleared it with Nikki first). Then we headed over to the southwest side of Kauai to the Kauai Kookie Co factory to get some of their delicious cookies…I am not sure they will make them home or not.

We then headed back to Lihue to pick up some essentials at Walmart before dropping the car off at National and getting on the ship around 5:00 pm.

The ship pulled out of the harbor at 6:00. We were Parrot Cay for another Hawaiian themed dinner night.

The show was Ronn Lucas who is a famous ventriloquist who has performed all over the world.

After the show we all went our separate ways to enjoy the night as we chose.

Dinner:

Ric: Duck quesadilla, blue cheese salad, vegetarian lasagna and no dessert
Nikki: Duck quesadilla, blue cheese salad, mushroom ravioli and bread pudding
Regan: Roma tomato and goat cheese, blue cheese salad, chicken fingers and lemon cheesecake
Kelsie: Blue cheese salad, mushroom ravioli and tiramisu
