A day of airports and then almost not meeting up. I'd said that I'd arrive at 1945 but not that I was coming via Amsterdam. After a few hours of Lisa waiting for London planes the power of the mobile phone united us.
It was this wonder of modern technology that has also made the photos possible as I haven't got any batteries for my real camera yet. All apologies for the quality.
I'm really loving Munich, it's a fantastic, cultural city. The greatest thing is avoiding bicycles that everyone seems to ride. They are the old city style bikes that are larger than life and intent on taking it, once the rider has set off there is no stopping, and like Keenu the speed has to be kept insane. Bike lanes take precedence over all others except for the trams.
Visited an art gallery within the old town hall, the exhibit was dedicated to German artists without artistic talent - another example of a care in the community project gone wrong.
Strangely this is no isolated project. Throughout Munich there are large plastic lions that have been designed and painted by schoolchildren. The lion is the symbol of Munich and represents it's large heart but I'm unsure that these large garish sculptures send out the right message. There are over 200 scattered around the centre and Lisa for one is embarrassed by them. See the attached photos and make up your own mind >> I'll photograph more during my stay.

Lions
They had something similar to the Lions in Dublin, but they were cows. On friday nights the pissed up Paddys would be sat all over them. No respect. Ask your bird to take you on a Nazi tour, if you want embarrasment
