Arrived in Seattle after a delayed flight, tired, out of sorts and then I opened the drapes of our hotel room and saw the Space Needle, so close I could almost touch it. What a sight.

Worth the hassle.

Sunday dawned cloudy and we ate breakfast at the hotel. What an excellent choice. There were breakfast tacos with all the fixens, potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon to die for, fresh, fresh assortment of Danish, muffins and bagels large assortment of yogurt, hot and cold cereal and beautiful apples, oranges and bananas. Everything was fresh, perfectly prepared and delicious.

We walked two blocks to the Needle to get in line for the 10:30 launch. The wait was not too bad but I was glad I purchased tickets in advance. We spent about an hour at the top, walked around, picked out the ships at the piers including the Volendam and a NCL big boy. Enjoyed a cup of cappuccino and watched people, a favorite pastime. Our table was by the self service photo spot and it was delightful watching folks pose.

From there we went to the Chihuly Museum and Gardens. If you don't know Dale Chihuly's work, google it. It is amazing, beautiful, fanciful and colorful. Each piece rivaled the previous one and it's impossible to pick a favorite. I loved the boats and the octopus, the chandeliers and the garden pieces. This is the third time I have been to one of his exhibits, Some of the pieces were familiar, others new to me. All were marvelous!!!!!!!

The sky was brightening and we walked through the area and came across an Army Reserve unit concert. Very cool, good voices, good musicians, enjoying the day with their families after two deployments. More wandering, a magician, a Peruvian trio, hippie type on the guitar and folks just enjoying the day. There were more museums and attractions but we we hungry and decided to search out a place for lunch. We decided on the 5 Point Cafe. It was doing good business but we found a table and enjoyed large helpings of comfort food; liver and onions for me and fish and chips for Joe. The food was tasty but oh my, why do they overload the plates.

It seems to be a western thing as though we all just rode off the range and hadn't had a good meal in weeks.

By now it was nap time. Later we headed to the hotel bar for a drink and snack. I left the drapes open just in case there were fireworks but no such luck. Still the Needle is a pretty nice sight to go to sleep to.
