At Chili's O'Hare
Traditional Bloody Mary toast to start the trip Jan and her friend, Jackie have been friends since their college days many years ago at SIU. They started a tradition of making an annual "road trip" back then. Their road trips evolved into trips all over America together. I guess this could be considered another of their road trips and for the first time, I get to go along. When I retired, I promised Jan that since she has always been so good about all of the snowmobiling I do in the winter and even goes with me on some of the trips, that I would take her somewhere warm and beautiful to get away from the Chicago winter. So I guess this is a combination trip.
This morning, we are heading to O'Hare Airport to depart for Maui, Hawaii. We've all been there before and we'll be looking to do some things we haven't done before. As much as I enjoy winter snow, I LOVE Maui. I had plans to buy a home in Hana there and was all ready to place a down payment but I didn't win the recent Powerball, damn!
We're not looking forward to the 8 hour flight, but
it will be worth it when we get there.
