Topical Palms
We have arrived! Hallelujah! We have arrived at Tropical Palms safe and sound. Thank you, Cory! You did a fine job getting all of us here in one piece. Lulu is blowing kisses to him (best she can). We pulled into the check-in area at 11:10 AM. Cory unhooked our car there. He checked us in. All's well (We thought). We walked down to our site to size it up. We never remember exactly where to pull up to level the RV without looking at the site each time. HEY! What Going On Here? What the he_l? You Have to be Kidding! Just like Goldilocks & The Three Bears! There's someone in our spot! This is not good....we are less than thrilled. We should be so excited and doing a double happy dance. Instead, we are stomping up to the office with smoking ears. Lulu is frantic. She'll settle down in awhile. Of course, they said they would correct it. Check out time was changed to noon so nothing could be done until then. So we planted ourselves in the lobby and began the tedious wait. Selfies would not have been pretty. Check in for us would be at 1:00 PM. Remember how Cory
called ahead to insure all was well with our site so we could just pull in. Pewey..that was absolutely useless. Like talking into air. This situation happened to us several years back but it had a much better ending. The folks that moved out of our site that time were the nicest, sweetest couple you could meet. We have become good friends. Larry and Linda Ping. I wish you could meet them. You would like them as much as we do. Anyway, back to our current ordeal. The people here say the group occupying our site are gypsies who come into the park and don't care about any rules. I better not put in writing exactly what they look like and how we have classified them. The first word sounds like mailer and the second word sounds like mash. Add gypsy to it and you can imagine what we are dealing with. Zowie! They are no Larry & Linda! The new manager of Tropical Palms, Jay, was very nice and explained they were working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. He offered to buy our lunch if we wanted to go out to a restaurant. Thanks but no
Here we are
Ready and Anxious to go to our site thanks. We just want to get into our site. Finally, at 12:45, our site was open and we moved in for our long winters' stay. Some of our friends stopped by. It is so wonderful to see all these great and familiar folks again. Makes all the crappy stuff disappear and puts us back in our desired happy place. Then the set up work begins. Cory does all the outside stuff and I do the inside stuff. Lulu supervises both of us. You would think our set up would be a snap. Wrong! I tend to bring a lot of items so we are bright, festive and homey .....that takes awhile to put it all in its place. Cory tolerates me but wishes I could cut back on some things. It's too hard to do. Our basics include: put the levelers down, put the 4 slide outs out, hook up the electric, water and sewer, put tire covers on, make sure the TV works. After that, it's all decorating time. Just like the TV show. Not quite the same results but it's ours and we love it. Of course, we can't do it all in one day or we would
be near death. There are many days ahead to putter around the RV and get it all settled. Lulu says she'll help. Bless her little heart.
Weak and tired, we made our way to the Cracker Barrel restaurant for supper. I always get the grilled catfish, green beans and dumplings...plus biscuits. Delicious. We splurged (deserved it) and shared their fantastic chocolate coca-cola cake. This is to die for.....definitely try it if you can. You will not regret it and will dream about it forever. Mark my word. Lulu is nodding in agreement.
It's been quite a day. We are so glad to be here and have the unplanned hurdle crossed. Now, we can sit back and relax. We'll do some more finishing work so when you come by, you will know you are here. Get your bags unpacked and plan to stay awhile. We are ready to "Laissez les bons temps rouler". Yippee! Glad you all made it with us!

Can you let me know how near you are to Zephyrhills?
My sister Charlotte lives there. Love your blog. Keep me posted. A year ago we were getting ready to go to Hawaii. Wish we could come to Florida but it won't happen this year.
