Ahhhhh. What a wonderful nights sleep: in our own cozy, high rise (remember the Princess & Pea) bed. We have missed it. We are home! No more ripping the bedding off while doing a microscopic bed inspection. What dirt and grime is here is ours. Fine with us. I bet you are glad to be settled in also.
No lounging around today....time to get up for Tuesday 9:00 AM coffee in the Bamboo Room. The Sandcastle (cottage) owners and long timers (RV folks that come for months) gather together in friendship plus to find out what upcoming events are scheduled for the park. It was terrific to see all the familiar faces of friends we haven't seen since last year. I'm sure you recognized some, too.
It's shopping time and guess where we are going? You guessed right: Wal-Mart. Our favorite. And best of all, it is just a quick drive down the road to find ourselves in Happy Land! Steve, the greeter, is the same fine, little fellow who has greeted over the many years. The store was in a bit of disarray: getting the Christmas stuff out and bringing in the new stuff. We managed. Went on
Publix
Our Grocery store to Publix Grocery store - compare it to Wegman's but Wegman's is still tops. The water tower in their parking lot is the landmark for the town of Celebration (the town that Disney built....it is a very special, wonderful and perfect town). We love going over there. Ate lunch at Chic-A-Filet. Cory had his Sabres shirt on and the counter man was from Amherst, NY (Buffalo). He really extended himself waiting on us as well as befriending us like we were long lost relatives. Pleasant meal and friendship. We felt like the King & Queen from Shongoraimia.
Back to the RV to put all our goods away. Wandered down to the place where they play corn hole. This is a big entertainment for many of the folks here. Very popular. Lulu wanted to play but she was kicked off the board. Probably couldn't throw the bag too far anyway. Cory doesn't play corn hole.....he plays golf with a group here. Got invited to a good friend's (Jeff) surprise birthday party. Lulu rushed around and put on a new gold ribbon for this celebratory event. She wanted to really dress up and look especially pretty for Jeff. She loves Jeff.
Celebration Water Tower
Landmark for entrance towards the town of Celebration He has posed with her on numerous occasions over the years - always being held close and secure by Jeff. I'm sure you know Jeff. You have see him in my blogs frequently. Judy is his wife and they both work here at Tropical Palms. They are great people! Jeff did not disappoint Lulu at all. After arriving and being surprised by all his friends, he saw the pretty girl sitting in the center of his special, honored table. He called out to her. She swooned and jumped (best she can) right into his arms. She was in her glory. And then he kissed her! OMG. You would have thought that she had been smooched by Elvis, himself. She's still cooing and oooing. She can't get her ear to ear smile off her face. She now looks like the Cheshire Cat. On the trip down, she has become very grubby and I really need to do a facial on her. No way now....she won't let me touch her face. Jeff has left his mark and she is keeping it for life. She says Jeff is her boyfriend and will be looking for him every chance she gets. I had to
Corn Hole
Lulu wanted to play but they kicked her out put her back in her carry bag cause she wouldn't leave him alone. We wish you a very Happy Birthday, Jeff. You certainly made one little lady very happy....that's for sure.
Still puttering around the RV. This will go on for days. Cory hooked up our modem for the Internet but it's not connected. They have to turn it on at the office.....tomorrow. I'm chewing up our Verizon data presently. But you are all well worth it.
Still wearing warm clothes and running our furnace. Our daughter, Lory, sent us a picture today of our home temperature...-3 degrees. Nooooooooo. That's just plain mean and nasty. We had been spoiled with nice weather almost to the end of December so it looks like it's payback time. I hope all animals are being brought in from the cold.
Nothing special planned for tomorrow. We like the spur of the moment stuff. Rest up.....no telling where we will end up. Hopefully, by supper time, it will be at the Orlando Ale House where I always get my delicious Wednesday night lobster. Like lobster? They have a bib for you. I see you licking your lips!
Remember to scroll all
the way down after the first few photos or you will miss Jeff's birthday party. There is a lot of spaces and texts of all sorts you have to pass through. Not my idea....it is the blog sites setup.
