A bit of excitement to start the day. We got to the bus stop outside he hotel to go to the Archaeological Museum thinking it was one euro fare. As it happened or was 1.80 Euro and the driver had no change so it got a bit fraught with 6 of us trying to get enough change together and the women on the bus shouting with arms in the air, as only Italians do, that time was passing and they would be late for work. Great fun for us on reflection. The museum was absolutely full of artefacts with thousands of pots, vases, water vessels, lamps and stone sculptures etc etc. Plus some lead and gold coins of about 300BC. Amazing place. Eventually my back gave out and a brew was called for. Next stop were four Greek temples of circa 2,400 BC, all within one Kilometre of each other. One still intact, because it had been used as a church, and the other three in various states of dereliction. They are marvellous pieces of construction and show how even 2,500 years ago men put people's lives at risk and created monstrous artefacts to
satisfy their own ego. Not that we are complaining now since we are still able to see them and gasp in awe, unlike Clitheroe town council offices which will disappear in 100 years. The heat started to make us fade and birra was called for in a shady nook until the autobus arrived to take us back to the hotel for a late afternoon nap. We were wanting to visit the old town but our bodies chose otherwise. If I was on my bike I would have done it readily.

Looks like you should've taken a cyclo-cross or hard tail mountain bike & not your new tourer. Looks like you're having a good time though. Definitely have more fun than most of us back home experiencing a cloudy late october with temperatures from 11 to 15 degrees.
