It was a tense start to the day when Bruce and I drove to the bank to withdraw some cash and the credit card refused to work. When we finally got through to Bank West via web chat it transpired they had put a fraud hold on our card. Back and forth with the bank and the restaurant involved and we finally discovered it was a misunderstanding. It is common practice in America for restaurants to put an authorisation hold on your card until the transaction clears and this flagged up as fraud at the bank. A tad over sensitive but at least we know they have our back in the event of real fraud!

We finally arrived at Universal Studios a little later than planned and headed straight for the Rip Ride Rockit. This was our favourite ride of the holiday the last time we visited. A selection of music is available to choose from whilst the ride is in motion. Gloria Gaynor was my song of choice, what better song to have playing on a roller coaster than 'I will survive' ?! (Although I'm sure the Ashley Alderson classic 'Skull of an Angel' would have been equally great!)

Passing the entrance to Diagon Alley, we couldn't resist another quick venture into Harry Potter World for lunch at The Leaky Cauldron. We all ordered Toad in the Hole which was a huge disappointment after our delicious lunch at The Three Broomsticks.

We returned to the main Universal Studios park for photo opportunities with SpongeBob SquarePants, Agnes from Dispicable Me and Izzy's childhood hero, Dora the Explorer (Bruce was front of the queue to brush up on his Spanish!)

Standing in line for the Simpsons ride, Bruce took the opportunity for a prank. He handed Izzy her phone and told her that Georga (her BFF) was calling. Izzy was so excited and grabbed the phone. She looked so disappointed when Bruce told her he was joking. (After she had already started speaking to an imaginary Georga!) She saw the funny side once she realised it would have been 2am at home.

The long queue for The Minions ride was well worth it for the 3D simulated adventure but overall I was pretty disappointed with both Universal and Islands of Adventure. If it wasn't for the fact that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was incorporated into both these parks, I really wouldn't have bothered.

It's holiday hump day today and we're all feeling a little tired. A few beers in the pool and an early night sounds like a plan!
