Hi again, this blog is about the trip from Morehead river to Weipa. The night turned out to be very cold and Tonina took my blanket and kept it to herself. what a laugh. We ended up sharing. We did not take too much blankets as it is going to be hot. The day started simple enough with a beautiful morning with a fire and a cool breakfast. We packed up with no hurry as we only had 400km to travel today. Well was not that simple was it. Saver's car would not start. It appears that the main battery was not protected from the fridge drain and the fridge drained the battery. After some ingenious activity we started his car With NO jumper leads. I packed everything but jumper leads. Off we went to the Musgrave roadhouse. These roadhouses are great. They are like an oasis in the middle of knowhere. They have diesel, food and drinks and not much else. I tell you they are a pleasure to drive up to when you have been on the road for hours.
The first town we passed was a place called Coen. Very small. We didn't stop except for taking
Musgrove Roadhouse
Tonina and I in front of the Musgrove roadhouse diesel tank with a whole bunch of towns and distances. photos of our grandson Cohen. See the photos.
Lunch was another roadhouse called Archer River. I had fish and chips. I have never seen so many chips. Took some photos. Also there are cows all over the place now. Even on the roads. You just need to be careful. I took some photos. They are Brahman cows.
We got to Weipa at about 4 pm. Booked to the caravan park for two nights. Just a rest before we go real bush bashing. It is stinking hot and humid. About 32degrees and I don't know what the humidity is but it is high. The swimming pool was the first visit. I will blog again tomorrow as we will stay inWeipa where we have reception but after tomorrow we will be out of range for quite a few days.
