Oh my God people!!!

Why have I not been here before. It is totally sensational. It was everything & more than I ever expected. I've heard some people love London & some people don't. I want to know what the hell is wrong with the people who don't????

It all started fantastically with a free breaky at the hostel, which I totally pigged out on cause I've heard horror stories about the price of things over here (Marguerite, you would have been proud). Then off on the tube to Victoria Station to jump on the Big Bus which is a hop on / hop off deal that takes you all around the city. As we pulled into our first street I almost fell over the open air topdeck trying to whip my camera out fast enough so I would not miss a thing. I thought the people behind me thought me rather simple cause I had the biggest, cheesiest grin on my face looking at everything we passed. Luckily for me I had the nerve to turn around & guess what.......they looked as simple as me. The wife said to me "Wonderful isn't it" and I replied with "Even better than wonderful".

We went past places like, Jimmy Hendrix's house, Benny Hills house, Marble Statue, 1st ever Hard Rock Cafe, Harrod's, Kenninston Palace, Kennsinton Gardens, J.M.Barries house, the staute of Peter Pan, Fleet st, Oxford st, Parklane, Mayfair (I've had hotels there, I thought to myself), Trafalgar Square, Piccadily Circus, Abbey Road, London Eye, over the River Thames, London Bridge, London Tower, Madam Tussauds, The Dungeon's, Florence Nightingales Hospital, Big Ben, Parliment Houses, Westminster Abbey, Scotland Yard and "Daht da da da....." Buckingham Palace. Poor me, not only did I miss seeing Lizzie (she is holidaying at Balmoral), I also missed the changing of the Guard as it happens every other day and obviously today was not the other day. Our guide said we didn't miss much as the crowds are so huge you would only get to see the back of tall men's heads.

I got off at the Eye & took my "flight" as they call it. I think I have about 94 photo's (enough to rival Niagra Falls). It was the perfect weather for seeing all of London & more. I walked around there for a bit taking in the sights, sounds & smells (some pleasant, some not so). Jumped back on the bus & headed for the Palace. It is very magnificent, I can't even describe, I just stood for awhile picturing Di & Charles standing on that balcony after their wedding, The royal family walking out for Di's funeral. It was very bizarre. I walked around Hyde park for a bit, mainly people watching, then jumped back on the bus as it was the last one for the day & I didn't fancy trying to find my way back to Victoria Station (thinking about it later it occured to me that I could have just gone to any underground....der).

I am definately coming back here after Scotland. I need at least 2 more days to actually get off at more stops on the bus. I don't have nearly enough photo's. I'm off on the trip tomorrow, I have to get up at 5:30am (GOD help me). But I am really excited.

That's all my news for now, can you please tell all Aussies to stop dying while I'm away!!!! What is in the water back there???

Take care, more news from the tour.
Ciao for now
Love Kel
