Madison and KayliMadison and KayliMadison and Kayli

This is us standing in front of the van - look how eager we are!
Hello Friends and Family!

Madison and I are taking a break from driving in a Dunkin' Donuts near Little Rock, Arkansas. This is the second DDs we've been to in as many days. No, we are not donut addicts (well, that is still up for debate). The reason we have been frequenting this lovely donut shoppe is because we hit the jackpot when we were sorting through all of our old gift cards. It turns out I had a Dunkin' Donuts gift card from a few years back for... wait for it... $120! Needless to say, DD will be our pitstop of choice until our beloved card runs dry. That thing I said about being a donut addict earlier - ask us when we return and I bet we'll have a different answer (and maybe diabetes).

The first couple of nights in the van have been great. For those of you who don't know, we gutted mom's Pontiac Montana and added a futon for sleeping. We also have managed to find space for everything else we needed to bring on the trip - clothes, food, books, climbing gear, and really that's about it. We've been driving for no more

than 5 hours a day and then finding rest stops at night. The first night we stopped outside of Nashville; and last night we slept at an interstate rest stop near Little Rock. But it hasn't been all driving and sleeping - we've already had some fun.

Yesterday we spent the day in Nashville at an indoor rock climbing gym appropriately named Climb Nashville. It's a relatively new gym (it opened in June of last year) and it gleams with the shiny innovation of a place that was built exclusively by rock climbers for rock climbers. They've thought of everything - an extensive gear shop, belay training stations, an Internet cafe, expansive yoga room, cardio equipment, and everything else you'd find in a run of the mill climbing gym. Madison and I had so much fun climbing on their 50+ foot walls. It was a welcome endurance challenge; which is rare to experience in an indoor facility. After climbing we stretched our overworked muscles in the Vinyasa yoga class that was included in the day pass! We were happy to exercise our bodies after driving for several hours the day before.

Well, the time has come to continue

on. Next stop: Oklahoma City. Thanks for reading!

Until next time, KM

Hi Ladies! I hope you got my first message that I sent yesterday - not sure if I did it right (surprise, surprise!!). This blog was a GREAT idea. At lease for me it is - as you know worrying is my best sport - and this way I can keep "tabs" on the two of you! Stay safe - Ed and I send our love!
