Woke up, had crepes and a banana smoothie. Exciting.... i know! I decided to take a local bus to Khao San rd for 7 baht. It was an interesting experience to be on this old run-down bus and not be able to talk to anyone about where I was going. I pretty much figured if I got lost, It would just be another adventure. And I love my adventures.... I luckily arrived at Khoa San road 30 mins later with no adventure at all. Sad. CHecked into a really nice guesthouse called New Joes. I have my own room with a double bed, fan, balcony, bathroom AND shower for 300 B/night. After a quick lunch and a long read at the pretty little restaurant downstairs I was all knackered and went for a nap. Reception woke me up a few hours later as I had guests :D People from my last hostel came and found me to come out for dinner. We sat and shared travel stories, one of the girls was 19 and travelling alone as her friends ditched her last minute. A noble feat to be a girl travelling alone in Thailand. The girls were tired and went back
to the Urban Age so it was up to the boys to have another one. Sam (Scotland), Jesse (New York), Dave (England) and myself planned on a Pub Crawl.
Khao San Rd was surprisingly dull this night so we ended up getting pissed as we had a beer at every bar worth entering. We had some deilcious Phat Thai for 20 B and then tried our luck on a club where a bunch of guys were hired to stand in shirts and ties liek statues and point to the place. It was terrible, and the guys were tiring out by the point. I decided I would be the motivator and tried to play the line game... the thai girls we were chatting to couldnt understand us so the game diminished realy quickly. Jesse suggested leaving the place to go to pat pong again, this is so he could see his stripper friend that didnt show up for the date they had organised the previous night. THe fun began at this point! We made our way down the street where loads of tuk-tuk drivers were offering us rides. I chatted one up and used my best sales techniquies to
get us a good deal. Usually you wold pay at least 50B/person but I brought it down to 20. Also, I offered to trade shirts with the driver. He wouldnt have it as it was his work shirt and needed it for the rest of the night. When we got to the tuk-tuks he agve in and we traded shirts, what a rad souvenier!
The rest of the night brought alot of surprised looks from locals who asked where I got the shirt, I obviously said that I was a taxi driver. A few wheelies in the tuk-tuk later we were at Pat Pong once again in the exact same joint as the night before. I felt like if you looked up sleezy in the dictionary you would fine a picture of us four guys, all smiles. Jesse had his eyes on the girl from the night before; it was really funny because we were joking that he had fallen in love with this girl.. a hooker... but I didnt ahve the heart to tell him that it was more than likely a man. I was completely over the whole scene so I just chatted to some of
the girls about philosophy and life. haha, it turns out the girls only get payed 40B/night. Thats the cost of one drink! I guess they make most of their money from going upstaitrs with guys for 2000B. One of the girls offered to meet up after she was off for free and I was really digusted with the place so I got the guys up and out. Jesse stayed behind with his 'woman' to finish, so we left him behind. He sat there the whole time completely mesmorized by her, it was actually really pathetic.
After leaving, it was just Sam, Dave and myself at a club next door. I found myself dancing with a Thai girl for a while when In realized the guys were just sitting at the bar, I decided it was time to leave ther as well and we headed to mackers (I know, we're in Thailand and eating McDonalds, its sick.). We took some pictures woth some ladyboys and then were back onto Pat Pong. It had really died down in the 30 mins we were off, the ladyboys had finally gone home and the clubs were shut down.
Some Thai
guys were playing a game of target with a soccerball and a plastic bottle, first one to hit it wins 20 B. The boys went and played first as they were the distinguished soccer players.. they only won 1 of 4 games between them. I lucked out and won 4 of 5 games that I played, haha, I also won the respect of the Thai boys and they were giving me loads of free beer becuase I beat the guy that apparantly never loses. The girls they were with were hitting on me and kept giving me food which was col becuse MCDonalds didnt fill me up. It was nice to ahve a good chat with the girls without them wanting sex, it was also cool to chat with locals as far as their broken english and our inability to speak thai could take us. We had a big soccer game in the streets as it was now 3:30 and everyone had indoubtably gone home to sleep, or to 'sleep' with a ladyboy. We played two games and they lasted forever, it was best of 3 and my team won the first two games. By this point, running on bare
feet was hurting quite a bit and I was glad the game was over. My feet were completely black and disgusting by the time I got home. We had said our goodbyes and then I jumped into a tuk-tuk to head home thinking about how awesome the night turned out to be. Another good night.

Larry is going to love the Lady Boys. Sounds like an interesting night, of course we'll hear more about it when you return in a week or so. XD
