Well we have arrived in beautiful Samara!!!! Words cannot express how breathtaking it is here. Our studio apartment is perfect! We sit on our 2nd floor porch and look out upon lush, green palm and banana trees. Our hostess Karin is so fantastic! We owe our very dear friends, Quentin and Lorene, much so thanks for leading us to this paradise! Upon our arrival Karin opened the fridge and presented a us with a bottle of red wine, compliments of Quentin and Lorene! We were so touched and are blessed to have such special people in our lives. After settling in, we met with Karin in her beautiful home where we enjoyed a cold beer and exchanged stories about our lives. she described Samara to us, mapping out how to find everything. She is truly a wonderful person and I know where I want to enjoy some of my retirement! Later we walked down a dusty road, complete with 3 horses just wandering down to the river for a drink. We found our way to the supermarket and bakery where we picked up some freshly made ciabatta bread. After dropping off our delicious treasures, we headed down to the beach. Curtis and I were in awe of the vista - flat running surface, blue skies, towering islands in the ocean and mountains in the background. We stopped at Gusto Beach, a restaurant on the beach where we snacked on bruschetta, nachos and guacamole. It was to die for and truthfully, the only place where we have enjoyed bruschetta that delicious was in Italy! We then wandered into the town where I perused the shops for dresses (realized I CAN'T wear shorts!). We are now sitting on our porch enjoying a cold Imperial Beer. Shortly we are going to head into town to go to the fair where we can immerse ourselves in the Tico culture!

Pura Vida!

Wowwwwwww!
Samara sounds HEAVENLY! I'm sure Terry will have something to say to, but right now he's wrestling with a water heater problem. Since I want a hot shower, I will NOT interrupt him. :) So far, you holiday, although just beginning, is truly becoming an adventure of a lifetime. Lucky you two!
