Pizza at Mamagui's
We continue to fall in love with this beautiful country! Samara is quieter now since most of the Ticos have left after a weekend of celebrating. Sunday evening we walked to the village fair. It was very quiet with not much going on but since we were there at 7:00 things probably did not pick up until much later!! We then walked down to the dark beach where we had to tread carefully in fear of stepping on one of the hundreds of hermit crabs that were scurrying along. Our walk took us right into town where we looked through some shops and then headed home. We awoke yesterday to brilliant sunshine and sweltering temperatures. We brewed some amazing Costa Rican coffee and had a breakfast of yogurt, fresh oranges, and granola. We relaxed and Curtis went down to chat with our neighbors, a wonderful couple from Maine. Shortly after they went to the Princesa Bakery and presented us with a freshly baked, warm loaf of ciabatta. We pretty much devoured it, dipping it in pesto! What a wonderful and thoughtful treat! Soon after we packed up our gear, slathered on the sunscreen and walked to the beach. After scoping out

the perfect spot we hunkered down (well I did - ADHD husband was restless!). Curtis soon sought out Choco's Surf School and quickly became an expert surfer under the tutelage of Mumford. He was able to get up on the board on his first try and enjoyed riding the waves for the rest of the afternoon. Later we walked down to Bahia Cabinas, a quiet beach bar where we enjoyed a cold beer and french fries. After sunning and surfing we headed back to Boheme Chic and enjoyed "siesta". Later we wandered down to a much quieter Samara for probably the best pizza we have ever had at Mamagui's. It is a French restaurant with tables lining the road. It was wonderful! We even met up with the young man we had met on the shuttle, who sadly had to head back to Newark today. He imparted some of the sights he had taken in so we could possibly visit them too.
