So we have just arrived in the north of Thailand in a place called Chang Mai after roughly a 14 hour train journey. We left Bangkok last night at 7.30pm and arrived here at 9.30am. As we booked our train late, we were placed in 2 separate carriages. We took a special sleeper train through the night with Sam staying a 'room' with 3 other Thai people and Yoni staying in a bunk in a busier part of the train. The journey was smooth with both of us asleep most of the time.

Back to Bangkok, and our second night was far more chilled than the first. We went out with 3 other people in our hostel, an American guy and girl and a Canadian girl. After a few drinks in the hostel, we went out to the Khao San Road and took a 'Toot Toot' taxi to a Ping-Pong show (this was actually the girls idea and if you don't know what this show is, look it up yourselves!) The show was definitely an experience and all of us came out pretty shocked. After we were taken back to the Khao San Road, we got some dinner and watched some Thai street dancers who were really good. Finally, as there was a Lights Festival going on in Thailand, we went down the River and placed some lanterns into it.

The next day we woke up at 10am (although Yoni had not slept a wink due to his insomnia) and went out for the day. Our new Canadian friend, Marissa had agreed to join us and give us a little tour of Bangkok. This was actually the first time we'd seen daylight in SE Asia! First up we went to an Israeli cafe for some breakfast and after this we ended up sneaking into a hotel's swimming pool. After a good hour in the pool mucking around, it started to monsoon. We went to the bar under the canopy for a drink and chilled as the heavy rain did not stop for around 2-4 hours. This kind of ruined our plans to explore Bangkok so instead, the 3 of us got a famous Thai massage. Nearly everyone we had met so far had told us how amazing the massages were here so we got one for an hour. Everyone was right as we all came out saying how great the massage was. Yoni, in particular, whose back has been bad for a while couldn't have been more happy with his massage!

It was then time for us to board our train. We both feel we could have done another night in Bangkok as we didn't fully get to see the whole city but we'll be back there for our next flight so that's not the end of the world. We said goodbye to Marissa, who'd been chilling with us the whole of the last night and the day and took a taxi to the train station.

And that's everything so far! We have just got to our hostel in Chang Mai and hope to do a lot of fun stuff while we're here。
