How nice it is to see a familiar face on the other side of the world!! Our longtime family friend Penny (a London local) met us, after we had checked in and freshened up (much needed after 24 hours travelling), then treated us to a personalised guided tour! Even though we had only just arrived and could've managed ourselves, it was nice to just follow, look and listen without having to think about it too much 😊
Basically our time in London is very limited and we have attempted to squeeze a great deal of site seeing into 1.5 days! I think we did pretty well - the tube certainly makes it easy. Why can't we have trains that frequent and on time in Melbourne?!
Some earlier issues were overcome (my travel sim not working, wifi at accommodation out of service and losing each other for an hour at Buckingham Palace...not helped by my lack of working sim) - we finished our first and last full day in London on a high. Weather has been warmer than expected too. Be nice if Ireland can put on a show for us!
(P.S. it took me a little while to work out that my camera was set to a certain filter that gives everything a greenish tinge. I actually don't mind how the photos came out but at least now I can choose the best filter for the shot)
