Well, I'm not going to lie...I'll be glad to leave London tomorrow. It is a wonderful, dynamic city with lots to see and do, but the pace is too hectic. Why are people so in a rush? I could really wax philosophic here, but I'll refrain for the sake of my gentle readers. We move on....

The British Museum is huge with a floor dedicated to the history of each continent. I enjoyed the Anglo-Saxon exhibit. But I think my favorite was two small rooms showing the history of clocks. (I know, typical Lori). They had clocks as early as the 1560's---huge, bulky, inaccurate contraptions, to the 1650's when the pendulum was first invented making time much more accurate. It really was interesting.

I ate a Polenta and Brie tart with new potatoes and a salad hidden under the tart. And of course, my daily Guiness. It's no wonder I have been sleeping like a baby. It's amazing how many eyebrows raise at a woman eating alone in a restaurant. People really need to get over it. You never think that when you see a man eating alone.....I regress....

So tomorrow I head back to the airport via train to Paddington and then the Heathrow Express to pick up my car. And again I'll be truthful....I'm pretty stressed out about driving here. Not only is it the other side of the street, the other side of the car, but there are no traffic rules. You just sort of go and hope for the best.

So, wish me luck and hopefully I will talk to you all tommorrow!

Tallyho!!
I could hardly wait to get home from work and read about today's adventure! I love clocks, too, sounds like an exhibit I would love to see. I'm glad you got to see what you wanted, and are now on to hopefully more peaceful pastures :) Good luck with the driving, can't wait to hear about the next chapter!

traffic rules
good luck in the car. It may seem pretty haphazard but everything is laid out for you in the Highway Code: from what it means if the sign is a certain shape to who to give way to and when... that said, driving in London is 100x worse than anywhere else in the country, so don't be too worried!
