We finally left Dallas on Tuesday and drove to Shreveport, LA. It was only 200 miles but we thought there might be some things to see and do there. After arriving in the late afternoon and asking around we quickly found out that there really wasn't much there if we didn't want to gamble. We decided to just go eat some dinner and then head out in the morning for Breaux Bridge which is just East of Lafayette.
Wednesday we arrived in Henderson, LA and set up camp in a really nice "mom and pop" RV park called Frenchmen's Wilderness Campground. We heard about when we were stopped at a visitor's center just outside of Alexandria and got to talking to a couple in an RV who were asking where we were heading. They had just left here and really enjoyed their stay. With it being Memorial weekend we weren't sure we would find a place but these people here have been extremely nice and accommodating in making a place for us. This is a place that a lot of locals come and stay so it has filled up for the weekend. They all seem to know each other and
ride around in golf carts visiting and what not. It is quite funny to watch. There are a lot of kids around and they have become our little buddies. They all love Karlie and want to play with her. She is in heaven. There is one little guy who is so pickin' cute. His name is Caden. He has the cutest accent and he is always buzzing around on his bike and stopping by. He asked Don, "How many bedrooms do y'all have in that big thing?" Don said, "Just one." He said, "Dang, our trailer is a lot smaller than yours and we have three bedrooms." Don said, "We just needed one since it was just the two of us." He shrugged his shoulders and rode off on his bicycle. We just laughed. Too funny.
Looking forward to exploring all that this area has to offer. It is a very interesting area and from what everyone says there is lots to see. Took some pictures of the park so you could see how pretty the area is. Talk soon.

Watch out for those pigmy rattlesnakes in Louisiana. I trained at Fort Polk and saw two under our field bleachers. Getting hot in Clovis after some much needed rain a few night's ago. Miss you both and take care of Carly.
