Day 25

We left Springerville, AZ. at 5:50am and traveled 322 miles. Arrived here in Santa Fe at 7 o' clock this evening. The temperature was 50 degrees when we left this morning, so started out wearing long sleeved shirts and windbreakers. In about 14 miles we got into NM. We stopped in Old Town in Albuquerque and walked around a bit. Next was Al Unser's Racing Museum. Arrived there just before 3 and the museum was open until 4. Al was there and one of the guides told him that we'd driven our car from Pa. He was very personable and agreed to have his picture taken with us. When we were looking at the 1922 Model T Touring in the museum, Al Unser came over to us to tell us the T was all original and was stored for 50 years when he bought it. The Model T is in the museum 5 months. Tom Mac Duffie, a volunteer gave Mae & me a guided tour of the Museum where the Model A's & other cars are kept. There were about 7 Model A's, also other

cars. We then drove to where the Balloon Fiesta is held in October each year. When we got to Santa Fe we found a Walmart store to get water, while there Mae saw the right back tire was flat. After putting on the spare I checked the flat tire for the cause of the flat, found a small wire or very small nail in tire. Tomorrow is Sunday so first chance I get next week, I'll get a patch put on.

old town, we eat there with of course the mild sauce! Jim loves the car pictures, and owners of famous people you have been able to meet.
