This is in the parks surrounding the Castle
Upper Austria is the best location.
It's two hours away from two of the most beautiful cities in the world, Prague and Vienna.
Ok, I'll give you three guesses as to where I have been in the last week.........

.....

........

...........

Ok Jenna, no one thinks you're funny!
Saturday morning, Kefa and I packed up his 1987 (or something comparable) mercedes and drove to the farm in mufittel(Kefa, forgive the spelling) pick up, and so I could meet in person, Stefan. His house is attached to the barn, with white stone walls, tile, and hardwood floors, and fresh flowers growing out of the windows. It is precious. His family was so warm, even if we could not speak more than a few sentances to eachother!
After meeting his 80-something-year old grandparents(which still cook everyday and do not have grey hair), left for Prague. It was about a 2 hour drive on the death highway(they take corners at 80-100 km/hr, and everytime it happens, I think ' This thing is going to throw me right into that tree, sign, fruit stand, or oncoming traffic!' ). I am getting used to it

This is in the parks surrounding the Castle
now.......sorta!

The drive through the countryside was nice, but nothing compares to Higway 2 in March 😉

We arrived, found our hostel, and took the metro to the city centre. From there, we walked across Carl's bridge with all the Japanese, and Germans, to the Castle. I was flabbergastted- if anyone out there knows how to spell that, or thinks its cool, please email me.
Behind the castle is the famous 'Golden Lane' it is a row of houses that used to be inhabitted by dwarfs. Pixie, I think there are still a few select units remaining.
I saw a picture of this area in a book, and now I was stading in front of it. THAT was awesome!
I will attach some pics when I have a chance, to really show you what Prague is like. The city is full of so much character, and color. The cobblestone roads are rough at first, but once you walk on them for about an hour, your feet go numb. Sigh, that was a beautiful moment for me.
; )
The jewish district was so interesting as some of the buildings looked untouched. A real contrast to what its people went through.
I really felt something important there. Maybe it was sympathy, maybe it was appreciation; Whatever it was, it was strong.
The most beautiful buildings are mostly reserved for tourists, or completely abandoned.

We left Prauge the next morning and drove to Czesky Budweis after helping 2 hitchhikers to get there-----Ooooook Kefa, you´re the driver.
It has a really nice square with coloful buildings, cafes and a fountain in the middle. Really, it is what I pictured parts of Europe to look like.

THE PICTURES THAT GO WITH WHAT I JUST WROTE ARE IN THE GALLARY, SORRY!!!

On Monday Stefan picked me up from Kefa's and we drove to Vienna. There was construction on this portion of the death highway, making the drive that much more exciting....
We arrived and took the metro to Stefanplatz, where we walked through a beautiful church- pics are needed here as well.
Shopping was cool, but I am trying to save my money to eat when I arrive in Spain.....
Ok, maybe just one more pair.
We went to Stefan's cousin(Phillip)´s flat, and drank some Coke Whites.
Wait for this one:
Coke, mixed with white wine.
I told them what a Coke float was, and they all thought I was crazy.
I will let you decide.

Wednesday we went to the Zoo in Vienna, and then to see the castle there. The parks surrounding the castle were huge, laden with rows and rows of manicured trees. I felt like I was in Vienna, when I saw that castle. It was absolutely wonderful!
We had a coffee with Thomas- a steward for Austrian airlines, and friend of Kefa and Stefan's, and left for the farm.
That brings us to today where I woke up to fresh apple strudle and iced coffee.
It's a hard knock life............

Miss you all and I hope you are getting a chance to enjoy the wonderful weather you are having!!

XOXOXO

JENNA

Stefan's Uncle's farm... I leant over the fence to take this picture, and was punished unexpectidly by the electric fence, so now you know why it's blurred!

I want pictures!
As much as I appreciate your descriptions of all these marvellous places, I want to see them! Tell Kefa to give you a USB cable so we can all see what you see! And where are the descriptions/pictures of all the cute Austrian boys? I know they're cute, don't keep them all to yourself ;o) Well Miss Jenna, looks like you're doing quite the dream tour! Glad to hear that you're making the best of it!
