St. Cloud FL to Florilow Oaks, Bushnell, FL

Sad to say goodbye to some old and some new friends, but I plan on spending time with the MidLows again at their February campout.

BUT, not sad to leave this campground with the black muddy sand. It is everywhere in my rig. Winston’s feet are black, his bed is black, and so are my throw rugs and linoleum floor. Yuck.

We were on the road by 10:30 or so, maybe 11, a messy dirty unhook, then dump the holding tanks, and on the road, with a quick stop at the brand new Publix right down the road for some OJ.

Over the River and thru the woods, 20 miles across central FL on State Route 192, my most very unfavoritist road. Stop light after stop light after stop light. It took us an hour to go 22 miles. But, we had nothing else to do today, so it was ok.

We arrived safely at Florilow Oaks, a campground run by and for Loners on Wheels members. I have been here many times before, as has Ginnie. When I called to check on availability, I intensely questioned the manager, Kathryn, to make sure the Dobermans would be welcome, and she assured me they would be. We got the last 2 available sites and are here until Wednesday. Ginnie and I are nose to nose, in the front, along the fence, but who cares. There is internet access here, decent TV, and a lot of good friends. And, the sand is not black. We pulled in, got directed to our sites, and met our neighbors, and all seems well. Winston is settling into his routine, and really is barking less when he sees dogs or people he doesn’t know. There are lots of dogs here he knows from other trips.

We met up with Gail, also at the MidLows campout, Karen, who I met here last year who took me to Wal-Mart, and Judy C from NJ who winters here in FL. Good to see all, and lots of catch up to do tomorrow. One of the big flea markets I love is near here, and Ginnie, Judy C and I are heading out at 10. We also need to make some plans for the end of the week and decide what we are going to do about the RV Show in Tampa that we were unable to get reservations for. We are still trying, but to no avail. Good thing I am in an RV and can park anywhere.

Karen, our plans are to leave Florilow Oaks Thursday morning and head over to Tampa and try to get a spot in the camping area for the rest of the show. If we can't get in we will go park in the regular parking lot and boondock over night. We will be there by hook or by crook Thursday afternoon and Friday.
