Pleasant backpacking

We landed in a sleepy Bangkok in the middle of night, without any problems. We got a taxi to our hotel where we got few hours sleep before to get out in the crowd and get lost in this huge city. The weather reminded us like a sauna in Europe – hot and wet. It is rainy season in Thailand at the moment but (un)luckily we didn’t see any rain during our stay in Bangkok.

We have forgotten how easy travel in Asia is after our big trip in Africa. Bangkok is really organized, easy to get around, a little hassle and completely different atmosphere compare with the big cities of Africa. Finally we didn’t feel any fear to walk around the narrow off streets or after sun has set. This made us to enjoy fully every our step and realized that backpacking is so different from a continent to another one.

Thai street food has been far one of the highlights of our stay in Thailand. Every corner has something different to offer and you simply cannot say no. We were eating when we were hungry and not hungry as we couldn’t get enough the few dollars street food. Oh and fresh fruits shakes are just incredible. So like you maybe have understood so we didn’t go around hungry 😊

Actually we had such short time in Bangkok as it is a big city and a lot to see/ do but we have done/seen the main things. Of course like all tourists we needed to visit the touristic street where all backpackers have the life time – Khao San Road. We didn’t regret that we didn’t stay in this location as it is a party place where you won’t remember anything next morning. Through we found a lot nice places to eat street food 😉

There are many interesting and magnificent temples in Bangkok. Some of them are world’s famous. Like Wat Pho which is a gigantic reclining Buddha. The impressive silhouette of Wat Arun’s towering spires is one of the most recognised in Southeast Asia. Grand Palace and Wat Prakeaw is a fascinating and huge area with small details which reminds Buddhism. To take a hop on and hop off boat is a great way to explore this city. Oh the narrow streets, markets and small shops are creating a cosy atmosphere in the air.

Now.... off to Melbourne to settle down a little before the travel bug will kick in again 😊

Bangkok is great?!!
You created good blog and I'm glad you like my country. Bangkok has a lot of activities to do. Maybe next time you come back again.
