We survived a 17hr ride on the Greyhound Bus from Vancouver to Calgary. On the bus trip we got to see the spectacular Rocky Mountains even though we missed a lot of sights on the way because we kept falling asleep (Jet lag?). We did manage to be awake when we passed a Mountain Goat hanging out in the middle of the road, a Wolf gazing across the river and some Grizzly Bears having a feed on the side of the road. We didn’t see much of the bears as we flew past everyone scream Grizzly Bears and jumped out of their seats. No matter how fast we got the camera ready it was always to slow to get snaps of all the animals. When we stopped in Banff we also saw an Elk grazing on a tree, in town, across the road from us it didn’t seem to mind the bus and all the people on it. With so many awesome vast lakes, rivers, mountains and endlessly long sets of train carriages the only way to describe this scenery is spectacular and definitely a place we will have to travel back through but a little slower next time.
We
left Vancouver at 6.30 in the morning and arrived in Calgary 10.45 at night. A very long day but after a short taxi ride to the hotel we get a chance for a good night’s sleep.
