Our morning
I am the international man of mystery Well, today was quite an adventure. Dave, being the nut of the group, got up before sunrise, worked out, and walked all around Hyde Park. The rest of us slept in. Dave came back and reported that today was a little cool, windy and rainy and that we should dress accordingly. Today we planned to visit Hampton Court .... A very nice Tudor castle - about a half hour by train.
Our first mishap of the day was when we discovered that we had left our train tickets at the hotel. Andy and I were dispatched back to the hotel to get the tickets. The good news is that we found the tickets ... The bad news is I lost one of the nose pieces to my glasses .... More on that later.
But we were back on track and made it to Hampton Court .... Just as rain storm number one came on. So .... We did what foods old tourists would do ... We had lunch and waited out the rain. Hampton Court has many displays - but we focused on these displays - Henry VIII apartments, Mary II apartments, and William III apartments. Very interesting and
The joker
Dave thinks he is sooooo funny very nice .... The gardens are extraordinary. Had it not been so cold and rainy we would have loved to spend some time in there. The horizontal rain and wind convinced us to return to the train station though.
Once we returned to the hotel ... The race was on to get my glasses fixed. I spent all day trying to convince everyone I was an international star, but wearing sunglasses in England in the rain, generally leads people to think that you have an issue. We encountered a few issues with the repair ..but they are fixed now. I can't tell you more in case this blog is being monitored.
Tomorrow we go and pick up our boat and begin the boating part of our holiday.
Hope you like the pictures.
