This blog is here just to advise you all not to go to the Qantas offices in Melbourne, especially to speak to the manager there called Boyd.....
Basically last week me and Tom went in, to
enquire about changing a few of our flight dates, so that we would get a week longer in New Zealand, but then less time in the USA... anyway after looking through all of the options, were were given a few dates, which we weren't too keen on, but the guy at the desk (Boyd) said to go and take them home, have a look at them, and then phone back if we wanted them, which sounded like a good idea to us.
We then decided that these dates weren't what we wanted, so we decided to not persue this any further...so that should be the end of right?????.. wrong..... i got an email this morning just saying that we had changed our flights, this worried us a bit, so we went into the Qanatas offices in Sydney, and apparantly this guy Boyd had booked us in for new flights, without asking us, and then cancelled
ALL of our remaining flights! We then tried to quickly change this so we had our original flights, but Qantas had since booked them all up, so we were left with no way of getting to anywhere we wanted, when we wanted.
After probably over an hour of arguing with them, and angry phonecalls back to Melbourne, we have hopefully just about sorted them out (a few slight time/date changes)....we think (but im not getting my hopes up just in case)...
So basically don't book with Qantas in Melbourne!

QANTAS in Melbourne
Sounds like an absolute nightmare. Glad you've been able to sort things out. If you can be bothered, it's probably worth an official letter of complaint regarding this Boyd character. People like him shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. I recently complained about a guard on GNER and I gather he's now been sent for some extra training, so things do get done. Go on, have a go!
