Hey guys! I´m in Marbella now! I took a bus from Cordoba to here this AM and got in around 1230. I almost missed it because I slept through my alarm clock! This is probably because I was up late watching some Spanish rendition of ´Dancing with the Stars.´When the guy at the end won, all the other danceers ran over to him and were throwing him in the air! Haha! It was funny!

Also last night, there was a jazz concert in the plaza where my hotel was. It was great! It was all American jazz and songs that I knew. I had my windows opened in my room and could hear it all!

The bus ride here was beautiful! So much of Spain is so different! One second there are a ton of olive trees and rollings hills and then the next second we´re going up into the mountains and its all rocky. It´s beautiful! I also enjoyed the bus ride because the bus driver had a great CD mix playing! All American music and singers like Elton John, Barry Manilow, Al Green, etc. I enjoyed it! Some old man got on the bus at one of

the stops and started talking to me really fast in Spanish. I understood some andjust kind of smiled and listened. He was saying he was going to Marbella and asked me if I was from there! Haha! I said that no, I´m from the US. And he was surprised! Haha! He said that my skin and complexion look Spanish and he asked if I had any Spanish blood in me. Nope, I just have Japanese blood and a mix of Irish, French, and who knows what else!

Marbella is pretty. The water is super clear and pretty blue colors. There are a lot of jelly fish, all of which I was able to avoid until I was rinsing off the sand from my legs before I went back to the hostal and got stung by one! Fortunately, it didnt hurt too much, just stung a little, and I´m fine now! There was one HUGE on though...about a foot wide...no exagerration! I won´t be getting in the water... The sand is a brownish blackish color. Its soooo hot! I took off my sandals to walk to a spot to lay out and I had to start running for the water! And then the water is FREEZING cold! Oh, yes, and I had a surprise when I walked onto the beach. Although it wasn´t a nude beach, there were some nudes, or rather, half nudes on the beach! Haha! Women of all ages were out there with just the bottoms on! I was amazed at how comfortable they were with and and how they were just hanging out (no pun intended) with their friends or boyfriends playing volleyball and such. Don´t worry, I followed the American way and kept the top on! There were also men of all ages with speedos on...hott! 😉 Haha, just kidding. Maybe this doesn´t bother me AS MUCH since I´m used to seeing it from when I swam, but it still does seem a bit out of place at a beach instead of a competition swimming pool!

I showered and walked around looking for a place to eat! I ended up eating at an Italian restaurant outside that overlooked the beautiful Mediterranean Sea! It was pretty good and I was proud of myself for going out to eat by myself! I feel like I´ve done a lot of things this week and during my 2 months here in Spain that I normally wouldn´t do! I´m gonna go relax and unwind now!

Less than 4 days till Matt and Beth are here! I can´t wait! 😊

Let me know how yall are doing...
