Clint and new friends from Yellow Medicine East... Our Last Day!
How sad we are to say goodbye to Rome and to Europe!
Andrea kept us busy on this last day! We started the day with a choice. Kim, Johnny myself and many of the students and chpaerones from east Yellow Medicine attended mass at St. Peter's Basilica. We were also honored to see the Angelius in St. Peter's Square... as the Pope came to the window, made a speech on peace and issued a Papal blessing to the crowd. Talk about incredible! The rest of the travellers received extra free time in Rome. They explored Venezia Piazza, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, streets and shops of a busy and hot (it was 80 degrees!) Rome. Of course they had to enjoy a gelato....
Our afternoon was also a busy one! We received a guided tour of the Colliseum and the Roman Forum. So much history.... you know that Mrs. Ernest.... she loves her history!
It was sad 😞 to say goodbye to our new friends but we know we will keep in touch and we will forever have the memories and photos of this incredible experience!
The kids (and the adults) are exhausted but
