We walked past several of these homes on our walk through Amboise to Da Vinci's house/museum.
Today we had a walking tour of Tours (:D) and then took the coach to Amboise. During the lunch break, the Florida group walked to the Clos Luce, the final residence of Leonardo Da Vinci. It has been converted to a museum with beautiful gardens. We grabbed a quick lunch on the way back to meet the rest of the group. Lunch has been a filled baguette, a pastry and a drink. We're thinking of doing something different for tomorrow. Stay tuned...

The coach took us to the Chateau de Chenonceau after lunch. Annabelle was our local guide for today, so she went with us. Chenonceu is the castle on the river Cher. (That's the one that's featured in our level 2 text book Ch 5...with Hector, Virginie et Celine.) After Chenonceau, we returned to the town of Amboise and visited the Chateau d'Amboise. Annabelle guided us through this chateau, also. The chapelle of this chateau is the final resting place of Leonardo da Vinci.

We went for dinner to a restaurant which is built into (dug out of) a cave. It was cool. After dinner, some of us went out to Vieux Tours. There is a square with lots of bars/restaurants/cafes and outside tables. Tours is a university town and so this is a favourite hang-out for the local college students.

Tomorrow, we leave early to drive north to Mont Saint Michel, which sits out on the water between Normandy and Brittany. From there, we will move west to St. Malo for a visit, dinner and an overnight.
