Loudi(hunan)

This past winter vacation i took a trip to four different cities here in China. I feel that i should share my experiences with each place. Start with the train ride to each place. As for those who have spent a lot of time here, would know that taking the train is the best way to travel here in China. I will take a special entry on one area, Nanjing, where i saw the Nanjing Massacre Museum. That alone i will make a entry that will stand alone. For those who have been there would agree it was shocking. But enough about that.
My first stop on my trip was a small city called Loudi, which is in Hunan province. Loudi is about 110km south west of the provincial capital of Changsha. the city has about 4 million people in it. During my time there i stayed at two places. One being a hotel when i arrived. the other being my friends home. The hotel i stayed at in Loudi was Jin Xiang Hotel located at 3 LePing East street, Loudi Hunan. Best to have a translator with you when you check in to this hotel. The people here know some English but its always best.
The train ride was OK, although a lot of people were on the train because of it being the Chinese New year. I got into Loudi at about 2 am after about a 6 hour train ride and met my friend. Where we proceeded to go to the hotel. Trust me friends nothing happened. Two separate beds. i fell asleep rather quickly. Woke up the following morning. Checked out and proceeded to my friends home where i was welcomed with open arms as a member of the family. After that me and my friend proceeded to go to its own walking street, and walked around a beautiful area. Saw the Walmart, and shopping street. A place called Liu Xiang Square. At lunch time i had hotpot at La zi qian hong. also saw an ethnic minority Weiwuer. we ended up walking back to the home, for which i would spend the next few days at. I met my friends family very nice people. During my time away traveling, it gave me some time to think. Think about a wide variety of things.
I would like to thank my friends Heather and her family for being gracious hosts and allowing me the chance to get to know them. The memories I have of Loudi will remain with me for a long time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
