The spring flowers were beautiful
We woke up to an overcast day with a forecast of rain and storms. We went up to the Information Centre to get our National Parks and Wildlife Pass and went for a drive.
Our first stop was Richmond. We had a lovely walk around this quaint little town. We wandered up to the old sandstone church, St Johns, which had beautiful stained glass windows. When we left Richmond we drove down to Opussum. This was quite a long but very scenic drive. It is the last town on a ‘doglegged’ shaped headland that is South of Richmond. The drive is lovely, between the mountains and the river.
We stopped and had our picnic lunch overlooking Seven Mile Beach - a beautiful spot. (unfortunately we had to sit in the car as it was raining)
We then drove back into Hobart and on to a little town called Snug. Steve and I wanted to hike down to the Snug Falls. The 11/2 hour walk was worth it, the Snug Falls are lovely. I was a little nervous when we set out as the track is a bit isolated and there was no-one around. We found that the track was quite easy to walk along although there was quite a steep climb down to the Falls. We were lucky that the rain had cleared and we were able to do the walk without getting too wet. When we returned to the car it began to rain again. When we drove back into Hobart we could not see Mt Wellington as it was completely fogged in.
