Doyles Seafood Banquet
Not cheap, but bloody lovely when washed down with a bottle of bubbly in the sun! The Australains seem to take Easter very seriously - any excuse for a holiday. Because of this everything was closed as I wandered around the tourist hub of the Rocks.
I arranged to meet Belinda at 11 - it was her mums wedding the week before so she was out in Australia for that. I decided to take advantage of this and get her as a local guide! After a quick coffee we got a ferry across to Watson's Bay near the harbour mouth where we planned to sample the fayre of Doyles - and institution in Sydney seafood. When we arrived there was a queue for tables so we left our names and went to sit out the hour wait with some ice cold G&Ts. Sods law prevailed and no sooner were we sipping our fresh drinks as we got a phone call "your table is ready...". Down G&T, rush back to Doyles.
There was only one thing that seemed to be an option to order - the seafood banquet. Oysters, Salmon, Prawns, Octopus, Squid, Scallops, Whiting and stuffed Prawn were served over three courses and all washed down with nice cold bubbly. It was a truly awesome

Out of focus... but imagine its not! meal. Having eaten our fills several times over we headed back to the city and Bel took me round some bars both local friendly and tourist traps before heading off for another dinner with her mum.
I went back to the hostel feeling a little rough. Whether through a bad prawn, a bit pint or sheer gluttony I paid the price for such a day of excessive consumption!
