First day when it was poring with rain!
Well had a fantastic first few days. When I got here I didn't do much really, except sleep! Sunday night I went out with two guys, Michael and Stephen, and a girl, Lynsey, who are in my Ozintro group. We had a good night at a local bar here in Coogee.

Monday was a right laugh. We did a quick drive around the city and then took a walk through the Botanic Gardens. We saw fantastic views of the Sydney Opera House and the bridge. Our Ozintro leader, Ben, had brought bread with him so we could feed the cockatoos. They actually landed on your arm to take the bread! You would have hated it mum! Unfortunately, the one which landed on my arm flew away before I took the photo. I also saw fruit bats hanging from the trees and massive spider webs.

Then, we took a jet boat ride around the harbour. OH MY GOD! Got absolutely soaked!! We would be going really fast and the driver would stop the boat dead so that a wave crashed right over all of us! I was wearing jeans, which when wet aren't a great look. It was quite cold

as well but was a lot of fun. That evening we all went out for dinner at a place called The Palace. I had a chicken schnitzel (very common here - is basically breaded chicken).

Everyone in my group are very nice, although there are two who a a little annoying. One girl just won't shut up - literally she won't stop talking! Always has something to say about everything! People are starting to get a little annoyed. I have made great friends with Lynsey, Stephen and Michael. Me and Lynsey are going to probably buy a greyhound pass to go from Sydney to Cairns, which we have 6 months to complete. We will work along the way. I hope to do fruit picking or any farm work for at least 3 months because you can then apply for a second years work visa. Now don't panic mum - I can do that second year at any point I want, as long as its before I'm 30. Stephen is only here for 3 months so he will start traveling with us but then go on ahead. We have our big work and travel talk on Thursday so will have more of an idea then.

The weather here is still poor, like our typical spring weather I guess. But the further North you go the better it will be. Looking forward to it!

All Sounds Good
Sounds as if you are having a fantastic time. (you're right though, I wouldn't have liked the bird thing!) Enjoyed the photos, nearly choked when I first read about the 2 year visa! But re-read and o.k. with it now (just!) Looking forward to the next blog. Big hugs as always xx
