Amazing huge 24 hour street flower market - every colour rose and orchid under the sun!
Dear all ,

Lucy here. I hope you are all well. It has been about three weeks since our last entry and we have been busy. I have started my new job with 10 children in my class and lovely view out of the classroom window of the outdoor pool. Thankfully we are nice and cool as there is air con, but I still constantly want to go and jump in despite this! The staff are mainly Brits and Thai with a few Americans - the primary section is quite small so it feels like a team not too dissimilar to my old job which is nice. Everyone seems to be a similar age to me (although the Thai's are probably about 10 years older than I estimate - they usually are!) A 35 minute journey on the sky train and a new found love of munching the fruit from my local fruit man, who sells freshly chopped mangos, watermelon and all manner of other unseen exotic fruits makes for a pleasant journey to work. An earlier rising time than I have been used to for the last 2 and a half months, but the temperature is cooler so the day seems fresh.

It's set to get hot here in more ways than one. March leading to April are the hottest months and as I haven't seen a coat since Christmas, the 37 degrees of the last week are set to rise even higher... And the politcal situation is tense here at the minute. There are demonstrations in the city this weekend. The ex-prime minister was found guilty of corruption 2 weeks ago and he still has many supporters who are coming out in force to protest against his conviction. My school has closed for 2 days and Chris's office may close early so that people can get home avoiding the road blockages. Infact, Chris did get caught up in a rather large protest a week ago. He felt a little nervous until he quickly realised it was just a rather large advertising promotion for colgate toothpaste :o)

In addition to this we have visitors!! Hooray!! Judy and Roy (parents) arrived yesterday evening so 2 weekends of touristy trips and lovely meals out await us and we are very excited! Not to mention that we now also have a fridge FULL of cadbury's chocolate, and some UK magazines

Huge temple right by the river, literally covered in cermaic decorative detail.
and newspapers that cost less than £4 each!

Anyway, sorry but that's all I have time for now folks... See you next time...

Hi Lucy and Mr Cwiss, (and Hi to Judy and Roy, I hope you all have a fab time, I'm sooooooo envious and wish I was there too). I love reading your blog, its very comforting, however I'd appreciate it if you would exclude the scary bits! Whilst a mother appreciates hearing about all the exciting, impressive, stylish, lovely and SAFE stories surrounding your new lifestyles she is rather less appreciative to hear that you may be in peril danger. I touched on my concerns regarding the giant lizards last time and yet you tell me now that they can swallow living creatures whole. Are you mad, they are roaming around the park just waiting for a free human lunch. And now you talk about political unrest!! and Mr C getting caught up in a toothpaste ad. Please will you both be extremely diligent from now on. I look forward to your next entry. Again have a fabulous time with Judy and Roy and I look forward to seeing some pictures. Love you Mum xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
