Disney studios was probably my least favourite of all the parks we visited that week. Its not that it wasnt fun, but the day we visited this park was the day I was the most sick with my stomach flu. It really puts a damper on your vacation when going on any ride feels like torture (and you usually love rides.) But I told myself I was probably never going to be here again so I HAD to do it. First thing I did that morning? Aerosmiths Rockin RollerCoaster. Blasting off to 65 miles an hour in 4 seconds and going straight into an upside down loop and a corkscrew sounded like a total blast to me. But the moment the pressure of the speed hit my tummy it took everything in me to get through that ride. Thankfully it was under a minute long and I managed to hold in my teeny tiny breakfast. In defense of the ride though, it really was cool and had I not been sick I would have loved it!
I KNEW I wouldnt be able to do the Tower of Terror that day. I had done it in California and loved it, but this
time my stomach won and Matt and my dad had to do it without me. Disney studios really didnt have much in the way of rides. It was shows, shows and more shows at this place. We literally spent the entire day running from one show to the other.
First it was Beauty and the Beast, which was well done but really needed another half an hour tacked onto the time to make it enjoyable. Indiana Jones stunt show was alot of fun and probably my favourite of the day. People falling off buildings, trucks exploding and fake fights.
From there we had some time so we checked out the Studios backlot tour. They took us through different building that exhibit how they make costumes and props for movies, showed us some famous cars, buildings planes that have been used in movies for years (including lots of things from the Pearl Harbor set.) They showed us how they do explosions and under water tricks and we even 'got stuck' in a flash flood.
From there it was off to the 'Lights, Motors, Action' stunt show with crazy car tricks. I think this was the boys favourite show as cars were
driving backwards over jumps, motorcycles were nearly colliding with one another and people were getting 'shot' from the top of buildings.
Our last show of the day was The Little Mermaid. The beginning was really cool, as they had painted all these puppets in neon glow in the dark paint and had them 'swimming' around in the dark. They did a brief 10 minute version of the movie which was very hard to get into as it was so short. Final complaint from my husband and I was that the girl playing Ariel couldnt sing very well. Maybe as a stage loving girl since a young age I had too high expectations, but I really felt she could have been better.
Whats suprising is how exhausting it was to watch show after show after show all day long! We really felt that they put too many shows in one park and decided that this was our least favourite park of the bunch.
