But they're not so well behaved up trees
We were conned by the taxi driver and the railway officials on our departure from KL. But it was a brilliant con! We planned to get the (rickety) bus from the bus station back to the airport (60K out of town). But the taxi driver delivered us to the new, fancy central station instead. It didn't look like a railway station when we arrived, but they offered to take our cases AND issue us with boarding cards if we agreed to take the luxury train service to the airport instead of the bus. Mary didn't resist the arm twisting very long and I'm not made of sterner stuff any longer! So it was a very civilised departure and NOT very expensive.

Langkawi is a different world. We're stuck on the edge of a rain forest on an island where it hasn't rained properly for 2 months. Mind you, we have got difficult neighbours who tend to root around all day long and don't like being interrupted in their activities. We've been advised to ignore them, but I do like photographing them, especially when the babies come round with their mums. (The other neighbours include pythons and scorpions, so we're not

so keen to meet them.
We decided to take our first dip in the sea this year here this afternoon. Very pleasant, except that Mary managed to disturb a Sea Urchin who retaliated painfully. (The local doctor was extremely helpful, though)

To-night is full moon, so I think I'll look for a party on the beach.

The Cheeky Macaques
Enjoy the beach party! Don't get conned again.. Hope your feet recover soon. Make sure you're a little wary of those macaques, especially when accompanied by offspring - as can be a little unpredictable...

I am not too sure about sea urchins.....why don't you get some shoes? And as for your spider, well, I would be running away!:-)
