HB and I chasing zip and shoelace with soot on our faces.
One snowy Wednesday, Huggie Bug and Anita were sitting in a doctor’s room. WHEN, all of a sudden Huggie Bug’s shoe zip and Anita’s shoelace ran away! Oh dear! ‘How will we be able to take off our shoes!’ How will we get them back?’ They cried. They saw their zip and shoelace run out of the building and down someone’s chimney. Huggie Bug and Anita decided to run after them.

Huggie Bug and Anita chased the zip and the shoelace to the house and knocked on the door.
‘Hello?’ The lady said, ‘can I help you?’
‘Yes,’ said Anita ‘has a zip and a shoelace come down your chimney?’
‘Oh yes. Would you like to get them?’
‘Yes please, thank you.’
Huggie Bug and Anita ran inside and started to climb up the chimney. There they were! But oh no, the zip and the shoelace managed to escape! Poor Huggie Bug and Anita, they climbed out the top and sat on the roof covered in soot. Where had the zip and the shoelace gone? There they where, going into starbucks.

Blast! By the time Huggie Bug and Anita had climbed down from the roof and arrived in Starbucks,

the zip and shoelace had gone! The decided that because it was taking them a long time to catch them that they should buy a hot chocolate, 2 muffins and a pack of cow chocolates each. Hmmm. Now where had they gone. Huggie Bug and Anita looked for ages until one of them spooted their tracks going up into the woods. Before following them, Huggie Bug and Anita packed a bag each with their food, rope, torch and matches. Now they were ready to go after them.

The woods were very dark and full of snow. Huggie Bug got out her torch. ‘Watch out for the tree Anita!’ Huggie Bug called out. Too late. Anita walked right into it. Ouch! They walked for a very long time following the zip and shoelace’s tracks, but they were now very tired. So they made a bed out of the snow. Before going to bed they ate their strawberry muffins, then laid down on their very soft snow beds and fell fast asleep.

The next day Huggie Bug and Anita woke up feeling very cold. Huggie Bug went to collect some wood for the fire, while Anita got out their hot

chocolate and warmed it up. Luckily it had not snowed that night in the woods so the girls could still follow the tracks of the zip and the shoelace. It brought them out into a big field that had no snow. Oh dear, how could they follow them now? The 2 girls carried on walking until they say some houses. They started knocking on doors asking if anyone had seen the zip and the shoelace. Finally, after asking 100s of people, one gentleman said that they where hiding in his chimney.

This time instead of them both climbing up the chimney they decided to split up. Huggie Bug climbed up onto the roof, while Anita lit a fire to smoke them out and up the chimney. It worked! The zip and the shoelace didn’t like the smoke, so they came out the top. Huggie Bug caught them both. BUT the zip and the shoelace didn’t want to be caught. So they tried to get away and wriggled free. As they did Huggie Bug slid on some ice and fell of the roof. Fortunately Anita had come out of the house, so she managed to catch Huggie Bug as she

fell.

The zip and the shoelace didn’t have to go very far. They slithered along the roof and jumped onto the next one, then scuttled down the chimney. The little boy who lived there saw it all happen and came running out of the house. ‘Come! Come!’ He yelled. ‘They’re hiding in my chimney!’ Because their plan had almost worked Huggie Bug and Anita decided to try it again. This time Anita went up onto the roof, while Huggie Bug went inside to start the fire. Once the fire had started Huggie Bug ran up to the roof to Join Anita who was wrestling with the zip and the shoelace. The zip and the shoelace knew that they couldn’t escape this time so they stopped fighting and let Huggie Bug and Anita put them back on their shoes.

The girls were so excited to get their zip and shoelace back that as they went home to celebrate they ate their chocolate muffins and their cow chocolate.

THE END 😱
