Today we had to be up early as the boat was leaving at 9am, we decided last night that we were going to head north on the islands, didn’t know where or for how long but was going to just jump on the boat and decide then. We got on about 9.20 and decided quickly that we were going to go to Kuata Resort, opposite the Wayalailai eco haven which we had planned the next night. Plans quickly changed and we ended up in eco haven for tonight.
First impressions....amazing. Not as modern or plush as octopus but very spacious and we were missing that thing that you stand on...oh yeah grass...it has plenty too. The sand begins to irritate you after a while, using about 3 times the energy to walk through it.
This resort is set on 2 levels, has internet and a shop. its kinda basic but not really. Room was not too bad, only bad thing was the cold shower and the weather is not too great today. Even though we were both not going to be in it, we still want it out. Oh another thing....no fan in the room, and bloody mosquito’s everywhere; i hate the stupid little things. Bit gay but not everywhere is perfect really..
Today was another “Fiji time” day, lying around in the many hammocks that you can lie in, either on the beach or on the grass. Checking out what they have to offer and getting a feel for the place. At the moment i like this one alot so we might spend a few nights here (you don’t know what its like carrying around 2 huge backpacks, while Charmaine carry’s the hand luggage).
Once settled in we had some lunch, which Charmaine was not impressed with. Infact me and her didn’t like dinner either, it just means she can lose that weight she wants to lose now! Haha only kidding! Na it wasn’t very appetising. Following the dinner they did the bula dance as we watched. This then was followed by a few drinks and an early night. 9pm infact.
