Dinner time!Dinner time!Dinner time!

The lake in Kandy is filled with these scary monsters!
Well the next days didn't go exactly to plan - we awoke to Rach being the first food related casualty :-( Instead of travelling to Sigirya, the ancient palace, she spent a day mostly in bed. I went out and visited the nearby Buddhist bookshop to research why Buddhism isn't a religion and what meditation is all about. After over an hour of research, I realised this would take more than a glimpse on a few books.

That evening, we had to go for the only safe place that Rach could stomach the smells - Pizza Hut! This felt a little wrong as we had visited the previous evening too, fancying some Western food.
The following day we packed a picnic and visited the botanical gardens. For the first time since we'd been in Sri Lanka, there were couples about who were actually holding hands! Up until then, we'd felt positively perverted linking fingers! It was also the first time with could relax without someone trying to sell us something.

That evening we got seduced into what looked like a nice restaurant and the friendly waiter took our order. He brought us our drinks but told us
Peek-a-boo!Peek-a-boo!Peek-a-boo!

Rich was amazed that trees could be this hollow and still grow .... until Rach pointed out that this one was actually dead.
that Rachel's food was off the menu. Rach reluctantly chose something else, and he scurried off only to return to tell us that that was off too. Upon our questioning of what WAS on, he pointed out about four items. Well that was it, and I told him to forget the food. He smiled and explained that that was no possible as he had already put on my order. Rachel then exploded and demanded we saw the manager - which was most impressive and interesting to watch her arguementative abilties from a third person's perspective...

As we walked out of the restaurant, there really was only one other option. Three nights in a row? The waiters at Pizza Hut were starting to recognise us...!
