Prague
It seemed like everything was under construction We woke up this morning and had breakfast. And then we went exploring the city of Prague. first we went to get our tickets for the train from Prague to Salzburg. They were a lot cheaper than what we were expecting. I am glad that we decided to train it. Then, instead of going back to the hostel to find places to see, we just started walking around the city. It was so interesting...it felt old, but new at the same time. Quite contradictory. Then, as we kept walking we noticed that on most of the really neat buildings, there was quite a bit of graffiti, which was sad, but what ya gonna do? Then, we just kept walking. And randomly we stumbled upon the Defenstration of Prague!!! I was so excited. I've never seen it, but I've had an image in my mind of what it would be like and it was exactly what i though it would look like, strangely enough. Then, we walked around the area. There are a ton of churches in Prague, Lutheran, Orthodox and even Catholic ones! I figured they'd rid themselves of Catholicism with the Defenstration. Then, we walked through a really cool park.
And saw this immense and gorgeous church. So we decided to take a peek. And it definitely was Catholic, as much of the word on the walls were written in Latin. I deduced it was the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola. But we took some pictures, but I don't think we were suppose to do that...OOPS! Then we just kept wandering through the city. Then next place to see on the Agenda was the fortress. It enclosed many old churches. The Biulding of the place began about 1,000 years ago and it wasn't finished until 1929. Sure enough we found it and it was not too hard to do such a thing, but it was huge!!! So cool and there was a really sweet look out point over looking the river and city. Too bad it was a bit of a cloudy day. Then, I was really tired and had seen what I had wanted to see and I wanted to go back to the hostel and I told Jacqueline to do what she wanted while i slept...So, we were making our way back to the hostel along the river. then we came to this amazing Bohemian Crystal store! And
Down the Road
Like the main drag it was so cheap! I got some super sweet crystal earings, three crystal necklaces and two crystal bracelets all for 25 american dollars! SO pretty, but that gave us both a wake up call and amazingly we weren't tired anymore...then we found the touristy center of town and we went into a lot stores. I wish i had bought more, but i didn't have the space to buy some of the things I wanted to. But i got two more pretty scarves and the lady even gift wrapped them. She asked where I was from and I told her the States and she was really surprised because she thought I looked and acted German!!! I was like nope, not German at all! But we made our way to St. Wencelas Square, yup named after the real guy who the Christmas Carol is about. And there was a little market there. We bought some food. And then walked back to our hostel. We realized we had just walked around Prague straight for 8 hours!!! So, we went and had a nap and then we repacked our stuff. So that Jacqueline could bring back all my souvenirs to london and i would
Budweiser
The Czech Original just bring my backpack. For dinner we just ate the food we got from the market. At about 8 pm, we went downstairs to the pub in our hostel and i had some Budweiser again and we watched the Olympics...this night it happened to be the two man bobsled! and it was snowing and I just got goosebumps thinking that i would be there in a few short days!
