Here is a little more insight on my home life and what I am up to. Ana, my Señora, is a very sweet, older woman (63 yrs old). I asked early on to take her picture but she told me I had to wait until she colored her hair. She does not like photographs so I had to do a lot of coaxing to snap this photo. I enjoy talking to her and asking her questions, “Cómo se dice….” I think she enjoys the company since she lives alone. She spends most of her day visiting her sisters (all four live in Seville) and running errands. I included some pictures of the typical meals she prepares. She is a decent cook. I am still getting used to the fact that Spaniards use olive oil for everything and fried food is common.

I don’t think people can be homebodies here. People sleep and eat their meals at home, but spend the rest of their time out on the streets. Every afternoon as soon as siesta is over and the stores re-open, everyone goes back out to the streets to meet up with friends or shop. I have the shopping thing down!
Breakfast, EVERY DAYBreakfast, EVERY DAYBreakfast, EVERY DAY

Even if people got out to breakfast, this is what the Spaniards eat. No one eats cereal or feasts on eggs and bacon. Toast it is!

The natives of Seville are known for their kindness to lost tourists. I am getting very good at asking for directions. The locals will either explain how to get there or they will even take you to the destination!

I am in the midst of studying for my first set of exams. I have two on Monday and two on Tuesday. I am stressed about studying, but what else is new. The good thing is that next weekend I will be in Barcelona since we have February 27 and 28 off from school. There is always a fiesta in Spain. I am excited to see the city and relax. Until then, I will be studying!

Dinner is a light meal at 9:30pm. This "tortilla" (Tortilla española, o tortilla de patatas) consists of eggs and chopped up potato. This is a very popular item in the homes.

The school takes up the third floor. The classrooms are off this hallway and this leads to the computer room and the lounge.

Life in Seville
If there's "Curves" in Spain, what about Bally's or Equinox? I think I got most of the meaning. The lentils looks good. So does the tortilla espanola. Get that recipe. Dona Ana may be pleased you asked. Great photographs. It is such a help to see what you see. Love, Aunt Cheri
