Hey!
Well we survived the storm! To answer an older question the spider from yesterdays blog was just a little bigger than the palm of my hand and yes it is quite nasty! This morning saw a little iguana with a bright blue head! Really cool and pretty! Anyways right now we are supposed to be in Kanchanaburi but the plan didn't really work out. We took a bus today at 10:45 am to Nakhonsawan and from there we were supposed to take a bus to Kanchanaburi, all good the bus to Nakhonsawan was great comfortable and everything =) the journey took about three hours. We got to Nakhonsawan and straight away started getting harassed by touts " where are you going??" we escaped from them and went to a little office thing and asked about going to Kanchanaburi and got misunderstood by the lady and then we were told that it would be 200 baht each and then we went to another guy who took us back to the 200 baht guy it now became 80 baht and we got told that the bus didn't go directly to Kanchanaburi and then we thought we were getting cheated we checked in the book and it said the same thing so we took the bus.
The bus journey was alright it pretty much rained the entire journey and the wiper was not used or didn't work so not too sure how the driver could properly see with the window completely blurred but it didn't seem to bother him as he didn't slow down he was still over taking other cars, bikes and trucks! Other than that it was all good =)
We then arrived in Suphaburi ( something like that) and we were all ready to take the bus to Kanchanaburi ( its 6pm at this point) , we basically get told that the buses aren't running anymore and they stop running at 5pm! We waited just in case to make sure that a bus wouldn't come, a bus didn't come but it was not running anymore, so we started walking towards a hotel...the room was windowless, cold showered, dodgy faned, stinky, cesspit for only 2 pounds each a night, bargain of the century!!! So yeah we thought maybe we would try find a different hotel but it seems that there was nothing in this area! Theres a little mall here and we found a restaurant inside and decided to eat something as we had not eaten all day! After a good meal I left Steve in the restaurant with the bags and set off in search of a hotel, on my way out i bumped into a baby elephant and his mean owner, the owner was trying to make me buy bananas to feed to the elephant first I said no and started walking away I didn't want to see any of it because I knew I would get upset, then the man pushed the elephant or gave him a slap I'm not too sure so that the elephant would come running to me and then he tried his banana story again, and that's when I got angry and started yelling at him that the elephant should be with his mum in the jungle and that he had no right to make money off it! Angers me so much!
Anyways I then continued my hotel search and ended finding a place called Mind Hotel I checked a room out and it has AC, hot water, TV, and clean walls for 4 pounds each a night, that's more like it!
So then I went to tell Steve the good news and we came back and now we are here watching terrible TV and impatiently waiting for tomorrow when we can take the bus to Kanchanaburi!
Will give more updates when we arrive in Kanchanaburi!
