Now you all know how much I love chocolate, so you will understand when I say that there was absolutely no way we could resist going on a tour of the Cadbury factory in new Zealand, especially with all the free samples they promise. We weren't disapointed on that front. We were given a little bag with a bar of chocolate in at the beginning of the tour, the bag gradually getting fuller as the tour progressed. We were styling very attractive headgear as we walked around the factory as shown in the photo. I think my dream would be to work in a chocolate factory for a day. Not any longer, i know how boring packing work is, but to come home smelling of chocolate would be kind of cool, yum. Then there was the shop. A kingsize bar of chocolate here costs about $5, depending where you get it from. The shop was selling it at $2.90. So we stocked up. 😊 Two each. Cadburys chocolate tastes different here. It's still nice. If i didn't know it was cadburys I would just think it was a nice brand, it just tastes different to what I know cadburys chocolate to
taste like.
The day started with my clumsiness being demonstrated in all its glory... I dropped the room key out the window. I could see it happening, but there was nothing I could do to stop it. Then the sound of metal on metal, like a metal key on a metal grill...shit! The keys just fallen down a drain! @#$%^&*! Peering out over the side of the window, I saw that the key hadn't fallen down a drain at all. The grill was that of a fire escape and the key was sat safely on the floor at the bottom, though it was dangerously close to a drain under the fire escape. Phew. From now on, Annie should have control of the keys, its much safer that way.
The next day we had a day of cultural things, ish. We went to the art gallery and looked at an exhibition by Rita Angus. I liked the few water colours of flowers but the rest of her work, the portraits and landscapes were a bit freaky. We went on a bus tour of the city as well, looking at the many Victorian buildings and the steepest residential street in the world. We ran up and down it to see what the time would be....we did it in 4mins... and if you believe that your stupid. I hate running. lol. The current record for running up and down the street is 1.56 minutes.
For our last day in Dunedin, we went to a restaurant called the Wig and Pen and had roast dinner. Proper roast dinner with all the trimmings. I had turkey and Annie had beef. It was really nice and very cheep, which is why we went in the first place. $10 , which is about 4GBP. It was nice there was lots of it, no complaints. After that we went to the cinema to see the new James Bond film. Erm...Annie liked it, I wasn't that impressed. It was alright but doesn't really deserve all the hype.
I've updated the last entry with a few photos but they are taking so long to load its rediculous. so again, you'll have to wait for the photos.
