Cheers to Friendship

But I know that in front of C and S, there is no need to be pretentious.

5 months have passed since the 3 of us last met based on my last entry on 13th May 2008. C have just completed her central Japan travels with her family. In a way, it was fortunate that her parents were avid travellers where her notion of "family vacation" occurs once a year. For us, it never happened and I guess "family vacation" remains a taboo in my travel journals. There were just too many "excuses" and too many "what ifs".

This aside, I was happy that C had finally found time amidst her busy schedule to enjoy Japan in her own way. Her trip was nice with the minor exception of Tokyo Disneyland as she recalls. Of course, the brochures she had brought back was certainly informative for my year end trip planning.

S have finally left the shitty job and have just conquered a section of North America with her best friend. I'm happy for her courage to conquer the 24-hour flight to the states alone with 2 flights transfer at Narita, Los Angeles before reaching her final destination. Her new assignment seems tough but I guess with a determination to succeed nothing is too impossible.

For me, completed my solo Taiwan trip in August was nothing to boast about. But it certainly opened my eyes to more travel opportunities.

The meeting was held at a newly opened HK Cafe in Bugis Junction. Food wise was ok. Nothing too remarkable but I guess the company helped to fill up the rest. As we get on with our busy lives after this meeting, nobody knows when and where our next gathering will be held. But I believe there will be new gossips to share, new places to visit during our next meeting.
