The restaurant was so nice to let us borrow the sombreros in order to get the full experience! Obviously, the title really states it all. Don't you think? We haven't "spoken" too much lately as we have been, well, unmotivated lately. So, there hasn't been to much unfortunately to chat about.
That being said we still could have let you know what at least has happened, right? So, that is what we will try and do from now on. Might just be a general "hi" though. If it is please don't write hostile emails =).
With the "re-introduction" now over with, on with the show... now remember the 9pm show is always different then the 12noon show.
After we did the whole Roman Fort, the week went by relatively quickly. Kaitlyn wanted to get a massage and a bit of pampering, so that happened on Tuesday. Now for Mark, he wanted to have something special as well, right? Well, he in is infinite wisdom decided to buy a straight razor. AKA a "cut throat" razor. AKA Sweeny Todd going to slit my throat razor. He decided on this after doing hours of reading and watching videos and determining that he could in fact hold a piece of sharp metal to his face and live to tell
about it.
Then, Thursday we decided to go out with a large group to the only real Mexican restaurant called the Blue Coyote. Very good place to eat and hang out. They had decent food and semi prompt wait staff plus a few quality mexican beers as well! Needless to say with 15 people and beer and good food, it got kinda rowdy and definitely fun.
Friday was a very long rough day. We were supposed to get our shipment from the states. Now up to this point, they hadn't told Mark anything more then it would be there Friday afternoon. Fine not a problem. Mark took the afternoon to work from home so he could sign for the papers and enjoy our things. Kaitlyn also stayed home as well to start the unpacking process when our shipment arrived. Everything seemed to be going well and good until about 2:45pm and Mark received a phone call from the travel company telling him that the truck that had our shipment couldn't enter the city center because the truck was too large. The best they could do was to drop it off on Saturday between 9am and 10am. Oh joy...
now we have to make sure we are home to greet the people and unpack our stuff on Saturday.
Then a stroke of luck! A group of us decided to go to this very very large carnival. It was about .75 miles long and it had two sides to it... basically created a large circle. It is any county fair you have been to times 1,000. Just absolutely massive! It all consisted of haunted houses, fun chance games, water rides, roller coasters, twist rides that have no business still operating. Seriously, there was one ride that everyone sat in their seat and the ride started spinning very fast, then started tilting. However, the catch was that there were no seat belts. Yeah, that caused the people on the ride to fall to the ground out of their seats. YEA!! In the USA, that is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Here? It's called fun. After throughly walking through the place, we decided to call it a night, albeit a very fun exciting night.
On to Saturday, Mark wakes up at 7:30am to go and pick up mail that was waiting at the post office, the main package was his

Kaitlyn says this is a picture worth framing! razor (the same from above). He got back about 8:30am and got ready for the shipment to show. Right at 9am the shippers were here dropping our stuff off. Took about a total of 15 minutes to unload everything. Kaitlyn started unpacking everything while Mark ran some essential errands (aka picking up a plug converter for his xbox 360) then came back. After a little unpacking, Mark promptly sat down and played xbox for the rest of the day (who didn't guess this one?) while Kaitlyn was relaxing watching some of her movies that she had been desperately missing.
Sunday was more of the same as Saturday. We just continued unpacking and finally making our small flat more homely with pictures and decorations. The only thing is that we have now effectively used every possible space with clothing, dvds, books and just general stuff!
Now the thing that wasn't mentioned on Saturday and Sunday was Mark's first straight edge razor shave. Ok now he watched hours of video and reading all sorts of stuff on how to do your first shave. Ok! He got the blade out and stropped the blade (sharping it) then he put a hot
towel oh his face and then applied the shaving creme. Granted this was the first time using a sharp edge, but he likes to think that he was a bit confident in his first attempt. That is until the first stream of blood started flowing. Ugh!!! But again after the shave it wasn't really too bad. Only a few nicks and cuts. Then Sunday he tried it again... yeah bad results... more cuts and nicks... Monday was a long day of explaining to people that he wasn't thrown head first through a window and it was all self inflicted... that got him several odd looks...
The rest of the week pretty much went again by quickly. We did some shopping and did a little exploring around the city, but mostly made sure we were all unpacked.
This weekend, on Friday, we went with a group of people to watch our first cricket game in the neighboring town. It actually was a good time though it rained pretty much all during the game. Watched about a total of 30 minutes but that 30 minutes was rather exciting. Plus it makes much more sense to Mark after sitting during the

Here is the first picture of us at the Hoppings. Just walking around was an experience in itself. active points with a Brit that used to play and he could explain it to him. Kaitlyn really had fun but has decided that cricket isn't a game she would want to go and try for a second time.
Saturday was a day to try and find Kaitlyn a new winter coat. Really didn't pan out so well unfortunately as most of the shops were only offering summer clothing (60 degrees outside and they are selling shorts!)... thus we came back to the flat and decided on where to go for our one year anniversary. Now that will be a secret until we get back so wait for that!
Sunday was much more successful on the whole coat buying front. We were able to find Kaitlyn a great North Face jacket. It is all black with a fleece shell. She absolutely loves it!!! She's been very motivated walking to and from work each day and doesn't want the cold weather and rain to spoil that motivation. It really is a nice coat and a great find. Other than that, nothing much really happened today.
You guys take care back state side! We really miss everyone. Hope to

Amongst everything, there was an abundance of gypsies available to tell our fortune in exchange for a few quid. see everyone sometime. Don't be shy with the emails and phone calls.

The Glory of Cricket
Yep, you can't beat it. Sitting around, waiting for some good weather and the chance of play. The excitement builds, umpires, ... fielders ..., couple of batsmen ... and then the rain starts again. It's audience participation at it's best. You took a risk going in June, you should have waited for the summer Mind you - remember that when us Brits go over to the US and soak up baseball - we haven't got a clue why your so-called batsmen carry bats, they only hit the ball ~once per team per innings :-) Keep up the cultural experiences Matt
