Cold and Windy!!Cold and Windy!!Cold and Windy!!

This guy made a living posing like this!! Barcelona sure is windy.. yeah right dude...
I arrived in Barcelona 2 days ago, after an absolutely exhausting trip from Yemen to here. I left Dubai at about 3am, got to Frankfurt at 7am and sat around the airport for hours until it was time for my 1:30pm flight to Barcelona. To fly only about 10 hours, there was over 48 hours of no sleep, waiting around and messed up time differences. But I am in Barcelona!!!

Yesterday, I went to a place called the Sagrada Familia, a HUGE church that is continually being built, which they say will be finished in 2026, but have been repairing and restoring and building since the last century. It was designed by an architect named Gaudi, who is a big wig over here, and has a few modern buildings around here that are very different than the other "traditionally european" buildings. Curved lines, no sharp corners and very influenced by nature is his work out here. Very very nice and unique. Whenever you walk by one of his buildings, you notice as you walk down the street very different.

After that we went to a fast food place called "Foodball" which serves all of your food, rice and some

Why do I have so many pictures of me looking crazy? These balls were very tasty, but weird at the same time.
sort of filling into the shape of a ball. I had the chicken ball and a mushroom ball. They tasted pretty good, and I'm quite proud that I was able to order this all in Spanish. Adamson was pretty impressed when the first night I was able to order myself a cafe con leche without her help. Hey, I learned one or two things in my life. Funny though, too many puns and funny jokes made with your food being ball shaped. "Sarah... I wanna take a picture of your balls. Hold them next to your face..." gross, but funny and accidental all at the same time!

Sarah and Connor have been so kind to me out here, and welcomed me into their great apartment, which is right by the ocean, and last night, we all went out for Tapas! Mmmm. We ordered 7 dishes which ranged from Mussels to potato omelettes! They were quite delicious and made me feel like I finally got to eat something Spanishy. Not too much different than at home though.

Because the world is so connected by the internet now, the fashions here in Barcelona are essentially still the same everywhere else
My hat, my hat..My hat, my hat..My hat, my hat..

H&M was so cheap, we got these hats for only 5 euros. What a deal!!
in the world, however, the men out here are very fashion minded. It's kind of refreshing to see men dressed up nicely all the time. Two trends out here which we think are cool, but a little too out here are the female mullet, which is super short layered hair on the top, layering longer to shoulder length hair at the back. The other is Hammer pants. Super tight at the bottom, and crotch down to the knees and baggy. Be warned everybody! One day we could all have Mullets and Hammer pants at our local Gap...

So, the weather out here in Barcelona has been just plain.. COLD!!! I am glad I brought some gloves and a scarf, cause it's a bit ridiculous the weather out here. I hear Paris is even colder. It's been about 4 C for the couple days I've been here. We did end up going to H&M to buy some hats to wear. Now we'll be so stylish when we get to Paris! Mais Oui!! It was pretty funny watching Sarah try to talk on the phone with our Hotel in Paris. She kept on getting Spanish, French and English mixed up while me and Connor just laughed... "Si, I mean, Oui, I mean... Yes?"

I leave for Paris really early tomorrow morning, and I will have more to tell then. Until next time!!
