El Brillante Camping

The drive from Seville to Cordoba was 2 hours +, thank goodness for the GPS. The Brillant campground has a bus stop in front, but we choose to walk to the city Centro, about 2 miles each way. We considered going to the Mesquita Mosque, but the line was very long, maybe tomorrow. So we headed to the Alcazar. To the west of its towering wall, the Alcazar dos Reyes Cristanos is in the old Jewish quarter, a 14th century palace/fortress built by Alfonso XI. The Catholic Monarchs stayed here during the campaign to gain Granada from Moorish rule. It is an elaborate palace with fountains and gardens, and an irrigation system that is a complex connection of water channels--most efficient and creating lovely flowers.
It being Sunday, things were closing early, so we began finding out way back among the narrow cobblestone streets. Time to do laundry.
One sidebar: Kel developed a rash... first on her arms... then legs. She has been dealing with it since the second week of April and using our trusty cortisone cream from the US but ran out. The next place to visit is the Farmacia. At first... aloe was prescribed, no good. Second visit, another Farmacia, and cortisone is suggested. Yea! It is healing, but slowly. Point is: one doesn't go to see a doctor until the Farmacia has exhausted all possibilities. But it is healing...ever so slowly. What caused it and how to avoid it??
Friends from Florida that are well experienced in European camping will join us tomorrow. They are just returning from a camping trip to Morocco!

Hi Kelly and Bob. We are so happy to hear that everything is fine with the two of you. (minus the cortizone problem) We are admiring your photos and laughing at your comments, and a little jealous of your adventures. Everything is fine in Pittsburgh. The Penguins are in the Stanley Cup Finals. Quincy is keeping patrol of all of 15209. Thanks for the postcards for the girls. Take care--Mike, Denise, Jamie, Allison and Quincy.
